5.0 out of 5 stars An awesome product!!
One of our greyhounds has suffered for years with anxiety - thunder drove her into fits. For three years we have had her on anxiety medication and it still did not stop her shivering fits over thunder and fireworks. 1.0 out of 5 stars DAP is a DUD
We bought 2 DAP wall diffusers and a DAP collar for our storm fearing dog. Unfortunately it has not made any difference whatsoever. Maybe it will work for others but did not help our dog.

I highly recommend this product - I don't know where we would be without it!

5.0 out of 5 stars Did the trick for our new dog, May 27, 2006
We recently adopted a German Shepherd after the death of our dog, "Bandit", from the same rescue organization from which we adopted Bandit. "Babe" was a much more nervous dog than Bandit due to the fact that she had spent the last two years outside and was having trouble adjusting to being inside all day. Plus, my husband and I are gone all day at work and have a long commute. I suggested that we try the canine version of this product that had worked so well for our cat, Calvin. Within hours of activating it, Babe began to calm down and stopped whining as much. She is no longer thrown into a panic when my husband leaves the house - she is very much daddy's girl! About four weeks after we first plugged the product in, I noticed that Babe had resumed her nervous whiny ways, pacing around anxiously. I noticed that the Comfort Zone needed refilling, and restocked it. Within hours, Babe was calm once again. Thus, I can gladly say this product does work well - both the feline and canine versions - and would recommend it to anyone who needs to calm and comfort their pet without the use of drugs.

5.0 out of 5 stars DAP Diffuser and Spray together with training, August 27, 2007
By
This review is from: Comfort Zone - refill - Canine Behavior Modification Plug-In with D.A.P. (Misc.)
My dog became frightened of loud noises in 2003 after a bad accident. I tried everything from drugs, therapy, and training but his anxiety kept climbing, to the point that he seriously hurt himself, because he was so disoriented. To top this off, after a storm or fireworks (anything really loud) he would continue to be stressed for DAYS and have chronic, uncontrolled diarrhea afterward.

In 2005, Doctors said there wasn't anything further that could be done and then I found the DAP program in Europe and ordered it. It came with the diffuser, spray, training book (just tells you how to use everything), and a training DVD (has lots of sounds and lights).

Now (2007 almost 2 years of usage), he can sit still/quite or lay down during most of the noise and small storms no longer bother him at all; heck, he even goes outside during them! After the big storms/fireworks/noises he is completely fine in about 10 minutes instead of days. When he gets excited with the loud cracks of thunder or the whistling fireworks, I give him the spray, which relieves him immediately; otherwise the diffuser is all he needs. He still doesn't like storms & fireworks and I still use a leash & sit with him (and train him). He still cries, whines and paces (for a few minutes) but NO LONGER become disoriented, shivers, pees, vomits or climb the walls. He is controllable and getting back to his old self again!

If you need help with your pet's anxiety, I highly recommend this product in combination with the spray, a leash and repetitive training It is somewhat new for the USA but, ask your doctor about it and make sure you work with your dog too. Refills sold at Amazon are the best price around that I've found.

5.0 out of 5 stars This stuff really works!!, August 4, 2006
I've tried this with a nervous older dog and a brand new puppy, and I can say, this delivers on promises. Very little whimpering with a new puppy, and my older dog lost a lot of her fear of certain situations. Definitely worth a try for your problem dog...

4.0 out of 5 stars DAP infusers?????? Effectiveness, March 17, 2007
This review is from: Comfort Zone - refill - Canine Behavior Modification Plug-In with D.A.P. (Misc.)
This product was delivered promptly and totally as advertised. So the merchant did a really good job. I question the effectiveness of the product itself. I have had them plugged in for over a month and have noticed no difference in my hyper-dogs' behaviour. However it may just be my dogs as I have friends who have had very good results with this product.

4.0 out of 5 stars Help- but not a cure!, February 19, 2007
This product is great for dogs with mild to medium anxiety issues. Dogs with severe seperation anxiety often need behavior modification or sedatives. This product is not a "cure all" or a "miracle," but it is an AMAZING aid for working through anxiety.

It doesn't stop our dog from being scared of storms/fireworks, etc. But, if there are other noises she is scared of she will sleep closer to it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great for anxious dogs, February 5, 2009

I highly recommend DAP in general. We started out with the DAP collars for an anxiety stricken whippet. She would work herself into such a frenzy every day when we left for work that she would have loose bowels all over her crate. Talk about a nightmare to come home to every day.

The DAP collar was recommended by our vet and it gave our dog peace. It relaxed her enough that she no longer soiled her crate. But that was the only change that we noticed in her personality. So I would say there were no negative side effects.

The DAP collar became a bit pricey as they only last a month. The benefit of the collar is that it goes where ever the dog goes. But our dog only had a problem in her crate while we were away from the house. So we decided to try the more localized diffuser. It works just as well. We unplug it when our dog is not in her crate to make it last longer.

5.0 out of 5 stars This stuff works!, March 2, 2008
My puppy was whining and barking whenever I left the house. I bought this stuff and put it by his bed. Within days, he seemed much less anxious. Soon, my neighbors didn't even know I had a dog!

I definitely recommend this before trying anything else.

5.0 out of 5 stars Stopped Chewing, November 7, 2007
This review is from: Comfort Zone - refill - Canine Behavior Modification Plug-In with D.A.P. (Misc.)
I've been using DAP for a couple of years now & it really works for behavioral problems. My dog is a chewer & chews furniture/carpet when we leave her alone. The DAP helps alleviate her anxiety & she doesn't chew anymore. I wondered for the longest if the product really worked or if it was a coincidence, but whenever I run out of the pheromone she starts chewing again.
