My first attempt at using Comic Life Deluxe for Windows. This is also compatible with Windows 7, which is what I have and I had absolutely NO problems at all installing the program onto my computer. It's EXTREMELY easy and user friendly. I literally was making a "comic" within minutes. The program saves the files in multiple formats which is quite useful, such as gif, jpeg and others that you can send to emails or save to your computer. I saved my "comic" as jpeg images, then made a simple movie using Windows Movie Maker and it was up and running in a matter of minutes. There are TONS of different filters, formats and layouts which make this program so versatile. Seriously, I could go on and on about this program, but you just have to experience for yourself to truly appreciate it's greatness. Good job Apple and Plasq!

Would I recommend it? ABSOLUTELY, for a beginner or novice, adults or young, you can't go wrong with this program. It's so much fun!

I suppose you could do everything here from scratch in photoshop or MS Publisher, but it's so simple with the provided templates. The user interface is very easy to learn and use. There are a fair amount of options and choices, although not an overwhelming number. All in all, I'm very happy with this and will have fun using it. I took off one star because it is a little slow, particularly if you use large images (ie right out of your camera) without resizing them for a smaller size.

This is a great product for the PC as well. Its interface is really simple and intuitive. Thought bubbles and Sound Effects can also be added with extreme ease. I deeply recommend this program for casual comic creators and for people who just want to have some fun.

I wanted a copy of Comic Book Creator, but apparently you can't buy it anymore. You can go to the Mashon web site to supposedly use their online version of Comic Book Creator for free, but I couldn't get it to work. I couldn't even successfully create an account on their web site.

I was getting very frustrated, as I didn't want to use a web app anyway - I wanted to own a copy of software that I could use offline. Legally! There are illegal, cracked copies of Comic Book Creator available, but go ahead and import a malicious keylogger and/or some horrible virus with it. Not for me.

This is a program that does the same thing: makes it easy to create comics from photographs, which is what I am wanting to do. This version runs on a PC, which is exactly what I need. This version can run on Mac OR PC, so if you have either one, or both, you are set. If you are buying it for someone and you are not sure what kind of a computer they will use it on, get this version and you are safe.

I haven't tried it yet so I can't say how full-featured it is, but if it does the basic thing I want to do, I will be perfectly happy. And legal.

I was looking forward to a simple way to make cartoon strips from personal photos and clipart. But sadly, this product stops responding quickly when a photo directory/folder is selected with more than 10-15 photos in it. When it crashes, the computer needs to be rebooted else abnormalities can appear in other programs like mail, web browsing, etc.

A friend of mine had given me a copy of Planetwide Games' Comic Book Creator 1.2.29, back in November, 2008 and I used it off and on until this past January, because, while the program wasn't bad, it didn't produce high-quality results, which I was interested in, since I'm a stickler high-quality results. After searching again for Comic Book Creator 2.0, I stumbled upon Plasq's Comic Life Deluxe on this site, read some reviews, and decided to download a trial to try for myself.

After downloading the installation package from Plasq and trying it out, I can safely say that the Windows platform of Comic Life is quite stable, and from the moment I started producing a comic, I was impressed with its flexibility, user-friendly interface, versitility, and overall performance of the program. After exporting my saved project to PNG, and later compiling a PDF file, (Comic Life doesn't include a PDF Writer, sadly, so I used International PrimoPDF, which I've been using for a year) I was impressed with the final results. No longer was my comic overly pixelated, nor did it have a white border surroundig the cover art, or the obnoxious watermark that Comic Book Creator tends to put in its exported images and PDF files, which made me both impressed and satisfied.

Would I recommend this software to aspiring digital graphic novelists? Yes, I would because unlike its competitors, Comic Life Deluxe delivers an easy, userfriendly product that is quite versitile, flexible and customizably limitless.

Lastly, if you join the Plasq forums, you'll get great tech support and software tutorials, by an enthusiastic community of satisfied Comic Life users.

Really liked it. I thought it would be a little too simplistic, but its ease of use and creativity was great. I made several comic books using family pictures for gifts. they loved them
