Book Description

Rachel Robinson is comfortably drifting along, completely unaware that her entire world is about to be turned upside down. Rachel is not prepared for the pain as her only daughter leaves for college. Her suffering is only compounded when her husband of 23 years blindsides her and asks for a divorce.

With no place else to go, Rachel turns to her new friend, Sadie. As the women unveil secrets from their past, it triggers a chain of events that will change their lives forever.

With nothing else to lose, Rachel sets sail on an unforgettable journey where she finds that true love has been waiting for her all along. Coming About will speak to any heart that’s ever had a "change of course."

Sometimes the path we’re on is not where we are destined to be. It takes a twist of fate and a leap of faith to redirect our future. Never give up hope, just come about…

3.0 out of 5 stars Pleasant read, but... May 2, 2012
By Domino
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I will start by saying I liked the book well enough, but:
The bad guy is just too bad - no human is that lacking in likable qualities of any sort.
Rachel is totally self involved and self centered, Sadie might be her best friend but she isn't necessarily Sadies best friend.
I can understand empty nest syndrome - to a point, but really, not this point.
You have absolutely no experience with a camera, but you are so great as a beginner that you are picked to do a National Geographic assignment and the pictures come put perfect! Really? I have been a photographer for nearly 30 years, what am I doing wrong?
You haven't seen a man you went to school with in 25 years, but he has been carrying the torch all this time, and after one meeting with him, you know he is the one for you? OK,,,maybe,,
So suspend all your ideas of reality, and this is an OK book to read while you sun your legs in a chair by the lake. Not a terrible book, but nothing that would rate space on the keeper shelf.

1.0 out of 5 stars Didn't enjoy it February 27, 2012
By Jenn818
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
The story might have been mildly intriguing, but the poor grammar and punctuation made it difficult to enjoy. There are issues with present-tense vs past tense, the mundane details overwhelm (I don't need to know what the characters ate for breakfast, lunch, and dinner every single day), and the main character repeats herself and her thoughts endlessly.

3.0 out of 5 stars Fine for a quick read March 21, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
Found the poor grammar distracting. Very basic read even though the story line was good. The book has potential but lacks depth. Fine for a beach read.

I have read all of her books and just can't wait to see what she will come up with next. Rogues Hollow was my favorite. It was so mysterious and kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time I was reading it. I just couldn't put it down. Coming about is such an inspiring story of regular life events many of us have or will face. I highly recommend her books to anyone looking for something GOOD to read!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Real emotions February 23, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I read this book in one sitting and found myself really connecting with the characters. I cried along with characters and celebrated in their joys. This is a book about a strong woman finding her inner strength and her inner joy. Well written and well worth a read!

5.0 out of 5 stars A Mothers Love May 20, 2013
By Peg
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
The love between a mother and daughter is very special. It's something that can't be described in mere words. It's only something that can be felt and this story was extremely precious. I cried more than once at Rachel and Sadie. And I'm so happy they both got what they wanted and needed out of life

Story was good, deep, emotional, focusing on two women and their lives. Not your perfect fairy tale, real life like and believable. One glaring grammatical error near the end "... Read more

3.0 out of 5 stars good book
I really enjoyed tHs book. One problem - it needs another proofing. There are many wrong words used and must have had a spell check. Other than that it was a great read.

2.0 out of 5 stars Good concept, but...
The writing was not polished, used too many cliches, failed to match tenses and whoever did the editing didn't know where a comma should go. Read more

More About the Author

Jan Tilley was born and raised in northern Ohio. Enticed by the Atlantic Ocean, she later moved to Wilmington, North Carolina and now writes from a cabin nestled in the woods in rural Indiana.

She has held a wide array of jobs throughout the years, including newspaper reporter, veterinary assistant, and Public Information Officer for Emergency Management. But, her most important job has been raising her two daughters, Sara and Brooke. She has been married to her high school sweetheart, Kevin since 1985.

Jan wrote her first novel "Coming About" after her oldest daughter went off to college. It began as a purging of emotions but as they always do, the characters came alive and took the story down a totally different path that she never expected.

She was then bitten by the bug and is now admittedly obsessed with writing. Her second novel was a sci-fi endeavor titled "Embody". She was a featured guest on The Kevin Smith Show where she discussed the book in a live two-hour interview to a world-wide audience of over one million people.

"Rogue's Hollow" was her next release which is a suspenseful ride, fictionally based on the like named, spooky town near where she grew up.

Next came "Jasper's Gift", which is the highly anticipated sequel to her first novel. Tilley loved revisiting her pals, Sadie and Rachel. She said it was like going home to visit old friends again.

"I'm Not Listening" is her latest release. Suspense and steamy romance make this a new adult favorite pick.

Tilley is an award-winning author who has been a guest speaker at multiple conferences and events. More than 100,000 copies of her books have been distributed world-wide.

She will continue doing her best to entertain you for as long as you'll welcome her into your lives! If you would like to contact Jan you can reach her at contactjantilley@yahoo.com, follow her on twitter @tilleytalk or at Jan Tilley & Friends on Facebook.
