More About the Author

I am a poet and writer living in Asheville, North Carolina, with my wife and boy. I teach part-time at a variety of colleges and universities, including Warren Wilson College, The Great Smokies Writing Program at UNCA and the Low-Residency MFA at Queens University at Charlotte. I am the author of a memoir, In My Father's Footsteps, and a poetry collection, We Generous. I used to co-edit the place-based literary journal, Rivendell. I now work with Curtis Bauer and the board at Q Ave Press making chapbooks and letterpress broadsides. I am working on a novel and a book on writing creative nonfiction. A second book of poems, Miracle Day, comes out next year from Red Hen Press. I work part-time at Black Mountain College Museum + Arts Center where I recently curated the exhibit From BMC to NYC: The Tutelary years of Ray Johson (1943-1967).
