Book Description

For years, eighteen-year old Isabela Fuentes worked two jobs to support her promiscuous, alcoholic mother.

After the latest boyfriend rapes her at knife point, Isabela throws her few possessions into her car and drives until she reaches Lakeside, Montana, twenty-five hundred miles from New York City’s suffocating smog.

As her bodily scars fade, she takes solace in the nature around her and records it in her sketch pad. It isn't until she begins sketching scenes from her rape that she learns to cope with what happened.

But leaving her mother behind to fend for herself might have been a mistake; and when two strangers appear on her doorstep claiming to be her dead grandparents, they threaten the fragile childhood memories. Before she can rebuild her life, Isabela must decide to either let her past go or unite it with the woman she’s become.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fabulous New Author! February 14, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I downloaded "Coming Home" last night and it is beautifully written! I'm only ten or so pages in but had to say something positive for this budding new author.

I started out reading and digesting every word, but before I knew it, I was IN.THE.BOOK. Seeing & experiencing it instead of reading it. You've done a wonderful job, April Plummer! Can't wait to see where this one goes.

4.0 out of 5 stars 1st author's published book March 17, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
"Coming Home" is very well-written with great character detail and development and the plot interestingly woven together to keep the reader in suspense. This is my granddaughter, April Plummer's first published book and I did not realize how gifted April's writing is! I had the book downloaded onto my Kindle and was thinking it would help April, but I was the one pleasantly surprised! I was very happy her book was through Amazon as I have an account and have gotten many great books.

4.0 out of 5 stars The power of words September 18, 2012
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
This is not my favorite genre, but the powerful plot and well-conceived characters soon took over and compelled me to read this entire book. I found myself amazed by the writing and engrossed by the story. There are plenty of twists and turns, but more important is Plummer's ability to wrench emotion out of words. "Coming Home" is desperate yet lovely, agonizing yet hopeful, dreadful yet beautiful. I recommend you take a deep breath and then give it a go.

4.0 out of 5 stars Really enjoyed this book! March 14, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
April did a nice job with this story, including the imagery of Montana and the character development. Even made me cry toward the end, but I won't say which scene since I don't want to give anything away.

Well done!

5.0 out of 5 stars Actually read in one sitting: Could not put it down! February 29, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I never know what to expect from a fellow emerging writer like myself. Some of my Twitter friends have needed some help before to gently push them toward their potential. April doesn't need that help. This is an excellent read. And yes, I did read the entire thing straight through. While not my typical genre, my writing reflects much of the happenings in this book. I enjoyed it thoroughly. The characters are well fleshed and the plot was finely crafted.
