Laura Hart has spent the past few years at a big city university--to escape her small-town life in southern Alberta. But her mother has suddenly become ill, so Laura takes a job as an English teacher at her old high school so that she can spend time at home. To her surprise and consternation, she finds that the principal, her boss, is none other than the object of her schoolgirl crush--Michael Foster.
He was one of the star players on the Canadian National Team and handpicked to coach their basketball team. The boys idolized him and, naturally, the girls all made fools of themselves over the handsome young teacher. But Laura hid her feelings with a faÁade of insolence and deliberately did badly in his class to get his attention.
Even now she finds herself avoiding him and getting "feisty" every time she is alone with him. Will she ever be able to tell him how she really feels? Can she make her schoolgirl crush become a reality?
About the Author
Nadia Shworan was born in Italy, grew up on a farm in the Canadian Prairies, married her childhood sweetheart and had two wonderful sons, who share her love of writing. Her career included being a high school English teacher and a school principal in Calgary, Alberta. She now resides in Nanoose Bay, B.C. She has written novels, short stories, nonfiction articles, and poetry. Among her many interests are gardening, knitting, playing with her grandchildren and art. Nadia's watercolor paintings hang in several galleries and are on the Internet. She is also a Toastmaster and conference speaker.
