Didn't know this album of Mr. Newton but the review posted here help...sorry it did. This is Wayne's older voice and has changed but the material is weak, the album has a worn out, dry, tired feel to it (to my ears).
The length of the album may be just fine at a very short 27 minutes. Sorry Wayne, love ya but I could barely sit through this one.

A legitimate Country Album from the King of Vegas,

This is a solid album. Wayne does an Elvis like take on the song Personality and it's great. He does two great duets - one with Tammy Wynette and the other with Dolby Gray. The song he does with Dolby is one of the best. The album is a legitimate country album and is very enjoyable. A great surprise!
It sort of feels like the type of album Elvis might have done had he lived in 1989 (when this album was recorded). Great one, Wayne! |
