Editorial Reviews

The Boston Globe sums it up, Little band. Big Sound. No more needs to be said. Although the only thing little about Sirsy is there are just two of them. The rest is bigger than balls on a buffalo. Listen to the power in their latest recording Coming Into Frame . You can feel it. It s crank-up the volume music, even when the heartfelt ballads kick in. And why so much power? Melanie Krahmer on drums and vocals, Rich Libutti on guitar. That s why. And, according to Sirsy a lot of credit goes to Grammy-winning producers, Paul Kolderie and Sean Slade (Hole, Radiohead, Dresden Dolls, Pixies). According to Melanie, known as Mel to fans and friends alike, Our fans have said that the energy of our live show hasn t translated onto our previous recordings. They are going to notice a different energy level on this record and it s because of how Paul and Sean worked with us.

This album does a great job of capturing Sirsy's raw live sound, something that hasn't always been come through in previous albums. Keep up the great work, guys!

5.0 out of 5 stars Best new album! Something for everyone! March 11, 2013
By Kevin
Format:Audio CD
I have every CD that Sirsy has put out when I started listening to them in Upstate NY. They are on tour and I recently saw them here in Florida and purchased the new CD that was released on March 5th. This CD blows away every one of their previous CDs. Here's a rundown of what each of the songs is like.

1) Cannonball - This is their first release. It's an upbeat song with great guitar. It's more of a pop/rock style of song. It's about love breaking through all of our defenses. (At least that how I hear it).

2) Lionheart - Amazing song. Great lyrics that clearly have multiple meaning. The music is fantastic in this. It starts off very light then goes into the chorus. The chorus adds voice distortion to the lead singer's voice and fits so perfectly into the song. Cool drums in this song too!

3) Picture - One of my favorites. Personally I think this is the most "radio" song, although I could hear all of the songs on the radio. This one has a REALLY catchy chorus that I find myself singing along with. This is about trying to put a relationship in the past and move on although it seems really hard to do. The lyrics show the struggle we all face when we have conflicting thoughts about knowing that we need to forget someone and move on but our heart just doesn't want to. Definitely one of my favorites!

4) Brave and Kind - This song is a ballad that just has pure, raw, intense emotion. I think we can all relate to a time in our lives when we're going through something tough and we feel like we could break but we just refuse to let ourselves break. The ending is so true - "I am blood, I am bones, but I am not afraid." I have to admit this song makes me realize my tear ducts work.

5.0 out of 5 stars This album is ridiculously good August 7, 2013
Format:MP3 Music|Verified Purchase
I"m a huge Sirsy fan, especially of their live shows. I own every album and love each one of them for different reasons, but the Coming Into Frame album really captures their live sound better than any record before it. Melanie's vocals are the best I've heard her do, she is just so powerful and soulful. Rich's guitar playing is so unique, the way he plays is just the core of their sound. The songs on this album I just so memorable. I ran through the album once and they were instantly recognizable on the second pass. All of them. And their lyrics are just so great. Listen to "Brave and Kind". What a great song. And "Cannonball" is just so cool. The whole album is simply fantastic.
