5.0 out of 5 stars Something special, May 12, 2009
By
This review is from: Coming Into View (Audio CD)
There is something very special about this release. From the first few notes of the first song it is obvious that Logozar has created a broad and beautiful landscape that invites the listener to join in and explore. That is exactly what happens with each song. I found myself being drawn in deeper with each composition. Relaxing and compelling this release is simply outstanding music. These ten solo piano creations will leave you wanting at least that many more. Hopefully Logozar will find the time and support to continue a journey that that will benefit anyone that is lucky enough to discover him. Incredibly heartfelt and beautiful music. This is one of those CDs that you'll be proud to own and even prouder to share.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Music to Read/Study By, November 5, 2008

This review is from: Coming Into View (MP3 Download)
I have had Michael Logozar's album "Coming Into View" for only a few days and have played it a half dozen times. It is an all-instrumental piano album. For 48 minutes and 10 tracks, Logozar manages to play in a soothing and diminished manner that doesn't have the annoying triteness of the relaxation, new age piano albums. Logozar is content to be silent and let a note simply ring and capable of complex interludes.

I have a very difficult time reading or studying without music in the background, and the constant struggle is to find something that will not become distracting in itself, isn't boring, and can simply fade into the background. Coming Into View is certainly one of the best that I have found for this purpose.

5.0 out of 5 stars Absolutely Mesmerizing, June 30, 2009

There's absolutely something mesmerizing about this cd. As I listened to each composition I felt that I was magically and hypnotically invited in. Poetic feelings were resurrected inside of me that I hadn't felt in a very long time. There are ten soothing solo piano creations that will leave you feeling breathless and panting desperately for more. There are no vocals, just lovely instrumental piano. I close my eyes and I visualize graceful images of beautiful ballerina dancers or vivid images of satin colored ribbons falling from the sky. Michael's technique oozes with classical romance. His fingers seem to gently caress each key as the touch and sophistication of a smooth lover's slow dance. I highly recommend that you purchase his cd. I look forward to getting more of his work.

"Coming Into View" is the debut release by pianist/ composer Michael Logozar. A classically-trained pianist from an early age, the Canadian-born Logozar formed a recording studio and production company in Calgary where he composed and produced many styles of music for other artists. After many years, he decided to return to his own pianistic roots, and this beautiful and compelling CD of ten original piano solos is the result. Although the music is largely improvised, it is melodic, flowing, and very soothing. Citing David Lanz and Michael Jones as strong influences, Logozar's playing style is very much his own. Gentle, delicate, and very expressive, this is a perfect CD for quiet dinners, relaxation, and getting lost in. It is a lovely and unobtrusive backdrop, but is complex and interesting enough to listen to over and over without it getting old. Logozar's music can be heard underscoring a number of films and television shows, and has been nominated by the Los Angeles Music Awards and Unisong International Songwriting contests.

The CD begins with "Orchard Hill," a graceful and very spare piece that sets the light and peaceful tone of the album. "Linger" is almost fragile in its delicacy - like a savored moment. "Soaring" seems to be depicting the freedom of floating on a cloud or gliding through space as in a dream - very calm and tranquil. "Autumn Rain" is one of my favorites - very dreamy and lightly percussive like the rhythm of a lazy rain shower (the kind I like to go walking in!). "The Promise" is a gorgeous ballad that comes from the heart - a deeply-felt and sincere vow set to music. "A New Day" conveys the warmth and anticipation of a fresh start - uncluttered and carefree. "If I Could" is another favorite - a daydream set to music with a leisurely pace and heartfelt melody. "Coming Home" is also a beauty - optimistic but somewhat bittersweet, as most emotional experiences are.

"Coming Into View" is an impressive freshman effort and is sure to turn more than a few heads. Treat yourself to calming piano at its best!

5.0 out of 5 stars a breath of fresh air, December 29, 2010
This review is from: Coming Into View (Audio CD)
From the very first note, you can feel the emotion pouring through the music. It is a breath of fresh air. You are drawn in to the unpredictable key changes and it is as if the music just flows from Michael Logozar's fingers. This is amazing piano-only music that makes you feel like you are being serenaded to; as in a private concert. I have had the CD for a couple of weeks, and play it quite often. Each composition has defined key strokes that carry the listener along, and the music rolls tenderly as Logozar caresses each key. A few words that come to my mind as I'm listening to the CD are: soothing, calm, peaceful, and refreshing. This is an extraordinary work of fine art.

5.0 out of 5 stars An absolutely amazing artist!, September 4, 2010

On Michael's home page a reviewer writes...

"...it's difficult to say where the heart ends and the instrument begins" - [...]review

and that is probably as true a statement as one can make. I love great piano music and Michael is in a class of his own. Every song on this album is so very beautiful, wistful, contemplative and heartfelt.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best I've heard so far, October 13, 2009

This review is from: Coming Into View (Audio CD)
I purchased this CD as a result of my physician instructing me to find a way to de-stress. I heard a cut of this CD on Soundscapes which is a music station on Bright House the cable provider in my area of Florida. I was so impressed I immediately ordered the CD. The cut I love best is "Linger". Michael Logozar's "Coming Into View" works for me. I'm sure it will for you too. Enjoy!
