Best stuff from Romeo's early years,
By
This review is from: Coming of Jah / Anthology 1967-1976 (Audio CD)
Yes suh, this is a good collection. All the great early tracks are here - but if you are after the more rootsy later years, you will not find any of the Lee Perry produced stuff here. But this is just as good, tho in a different style. You get the all-time great rude boy song Wet Dream, some great early soulful rocksteady like Soulful Music and Walk Into the Dawn. His voice is sweet yet he's a hard rasta. Some songs drift into rootsy reggae, such as Ginalship. Heaps of highlights like the anthemic Let the Power Fall On I and Don't You Weep. And some real gems like Chi Chi Bud and the wicked groove of Fish In A Pot. |
