The book includes formal interviews with Abba Lerner, Paul Samuelson, Alvin Hansen, Tibor Scitovsky, Evsey Domar, Robert Bryce, Lorie Tarshis, John Kenneth Galbraith, Paul Sweesy, Walter Salant and Leon Keyserling. The interviews are introduced by an essay which discusses the three parts of the Keynesian revolution. This essay sets the stage for the interviews and relates them to modern macroeconomic debates.
