I'm a 22y/o college student. I read this book and thought it was great. If you're a Christian and are truly seeking change, this book is for you. i was surprised by the negative reviews. As I read this book, I was floored at how the author knew exactly where I was coming from. Bob davies personally struggled with the issue of homosexuality. This book really helped me identify with my personal struggles and offered some great advice.

One of my pastors, who loves me and also has a son in the homosexual lifestyle whom she loves dearly, lent this book to me more than 2 years ago. I still have it because I go back and re-read parts of it when I want encouragement and reinforcement. I lived a lesbian lifestyle for about seven years, but I am here to tell you that through this book (and several others), I have learned that God loves me deeply and offers real hope for permanent healing and change. I am now in a healthy heterosexual relationship. I am currently abstinent and will remain so until I marry, but look forward to a fulfilling sex-life with my future husband. I am thankful that Bob and Lori wrote this book for all of us who have the courage to let God into our hurt and believe that He can heal us and YES, CHANGE us!

I'm waiting for the sequel that deals with heterosexuality. That would be a very good book.

I am a 17 yr. old Christian guy trying to learn Gods will for my life but I have battled with homosexual desires for years. I was praying and seeking God for help. (obviously this isn't an area you go and tell everyone about) I ordered the book and it has honestly changed my life. Bob and Lori share their personal struggles and how to overcome their temptations and desires. Teaching that as we grow spiritually in God... HE will bring change and healing into our lives. Homosexuallity is a SIN! God did not intend for us to be this way and HE HAS OFFERED HOPE! There IS a way out! This book shows and relates to many experiances common to us men and women stuggling with Homosexuality. This book is a God-SEND it will bring new light to our struggles. Keep the faith... ; )

For obvious reasons two important chapters this book leaves out are on religious abuse and sexuality abuse. Any book that leaves out this information is destructive to a searching person (especially vulnerable young people) who are struggling to come to terms with their sexuality.

This book is a tremendous resource for Christians stuggling with homosexuality. I first read this book when I was really struggling with my sexual identity and looking for answers. The authors Bob and Lori both share their own stories in a loving, practical and challenging way, that will touch your heart as you read and bring you closer to the Father heart of God. I highly recommend it having seen the changes God had worked in me through using this wonderful tool!!

The writers shares exerpts from different people's life experiences from such an honest, transparent, and thought-provoking point of view. This has helped me in my walk out of lesbianism. Identifying triggers, coping with sexual temptation, and practical tips and little stories are interspearsed throughout this book. I know I've had hurts and lots of pain and lots of anger. I felt very encouraged and found it to be very relate-able. If you're looking for honesty, hope, and some practical steps out this is a book for you.

I now have HOPE too because Jesus helped me with my battles with lesbianism and continues to help me- now He's helping me with my anger and frustration that I sometimes display with my children. But you know what?- Jesus is there to help me, to help you through anything whether it's homosexuality or whether its through anger or whether it's through problems with... well, you fill in the blank. He just promises to be there to help because the Bible says that Jesus "came to seek and save what was lost." (Luke 19:10). You ever feel lost? I know I have and I have been so amazed at this Jesus who never gave up and never gives up on me even when I have and think He should. There really is HOPE, my friend. The sadness and always pursuing in other women what I wanted from my mom is and what I wanted to see in me is just engulfing and never satiated or satisfied when I go at it with this route. I just felt like I only hungered for more and more versus ever feeling truly met. Well, now Jesus is teaching me a peace about myself (get that!- too cool as at one point I would never have imagined it) and more and more about sweet friendships and loving women in a deeper way than I ever could before. He's also letting me be loved in a deeper way than I've known before too- Jesus just blows me away. Take care, my precious fellow traveler. I hope you find rest along the way too.

The one and only reason this book has even come to my attention was because my Mom had gotten it from some religious group in her search for answers after first finding out I was gay. I saw the book and my stomach turned. I actually read it to see what it said. It was filled with page after page of lies about gay men and women. It was horrible, they linked homosexuality and gay figures with every negative thing imaginable and blamed it for basically any problems of the past, present, and future. It was just a morbid attempt to try to scare people... Quit spreading the hate!!!

This book has been a true Godsend for me. It complements the Bible and uses Scripture throughout to ensure the true Biblical basis for its existence. This book has helped me to understand the feelings that I have had all my life are not "genetic." These feelings are the result of not having a strong masculine figure in my life to guide me as I was growing up. Here I thought I was the only person who EVER felt this way, but Bob's and Lori's insight has been in direct correlation with what has been going on with me. If you are struggling with your sexuality, whether you are a man or a woman, this is a MUST-READ! Buy this book and read the first chapter and you will know it was written about you.

I used to struggle with homosexuality. Now I don't. Say what you will about the book--though I found it to be very helpful--but you can't argue with the thousands of people like me. The sad thing about some of the critics writing reviews here is that they're not willing to give people the freedom to change if that's their desire. If someone wants to change, let them. Davies and Rentzel have found joy and peace through the healing they've experienced. Let's avoid the "crabs in a barrel" mentality that says we all have to stay miserable.
