5.0 out of 5 stars Loving The Word Play, March 27, 2009
This review is from: Coming On Strong (Harlequin Blaze) (Mass Market Paperback)
Tawny Weber is one of those rare authors who can write hot sex even as she makes you laugh out loud. In Coming On Strong, she creates a hero who's "hard-wired to ride to the rescue," both where women and his family are concerned. To Mitch, his family expectations are "both a source of pride and a noose around his neck." On the other hand, Belle is a strong-willed woman who is very confident in her sexuality, but isn't quite as confident when it comes confronting others or to trusting her heart.

One of my favorite lines in this book is "Getting stirred up and left flat was like foreplay without an orgasm. Amusing once or twice, but ultimately a rip off."

Never fear. Tawny Weber delivers with a sexy, laugh-out-loud story full of word play and deep emotion. I can't wait to read her next one!

4.0 out of 5 stars Coming on Strong is aptly titled because the heroine comes on way too strong, September 8, 2009

This review is from: Coming On Strong (Harlequin Blaze) (Mass Market Paperback)
Coming on Strong by Tawny Weber is a Harlequin Blaze book. It is aptly titled, in my opinion, because the heroine comes on way too strong in this story. All she does is try to maneuver things to where she can get down the hero's pants. It was too much. It seemed like she just wanted the hero for sex and nothing else.

Six year ago, Belle Forsham left Mitch Carter at the altar because she felt like he just wanted to climb the corporate ladder on her daddy's coattails. Now Mitch is ahead of her daddy in the hotel/resort development business. In fact, Belle's father might have to declare bankruptcy if things don't change and soon. So when Belle gets a job offer from Mitch's company to help design his new resort, she jumps at the chance. Plus, she wants to finally jump Mitch too. But someone is trying to sabotage Mitch's resort plans, and all signs point to Belle as the culprit. But does Mitch believe her to be innocent or does he feel like she is trying to bring him under because of her father's troubles? It is an okay story, lots of steam, but the heroine drove me crazy talking all the time about just wanting Mitch for sex. It just seemed a little forced and contrived to me. 4 stars!
