A random and pleasurable find,
This review is from: Command to Charge (Audio CD)
I was merely browsing my local CD store when I came upon the imports section (an area I always like browsing) and I found "Command to Charge" by Suidakra in the midst of obscure pop groups from Europe. I have a tendency of buying random CDs that catch my interest (not always to the best of results) and so I decided to grab "Command to Charge." This is a band that apparently has quite a few records out and I still have not heard of them. The first song, "Decibel Dance," was a great opener that had me thinking this could actually be a good intro into a decent CD. I was quickly kicked in the face by the songs following, great death metal with folk influences and somewhat progressive vibes throughout the entire CD. I can compare them to Ensiferum and Kalmah comfortably and tell you that if you like those two bands you will not be disappointed by this. A truly lucky find. If you do like this album check out their other albums: "Caledonia," "The Arcanum," "Emprise to Avalon," and "Signs for the Fallen."

Spectacular Melodic Death Metal,
This review is from: Command to Charge (Audio CD)
When I had first bought this album I had originally wanted to pick up Celedonia. When saw this album I figured "Eh, what the hell" so I gave it a shot. Honestly after getting all of their albums, I still like Command to Charge the best. Their early stuff (Lays From Afar and Lupine Essence) has more of a Black Metal influence but is good just the same. If you like this album of theirs, then pick up Celedonia or Emprise to Avalon. Some of the best Folk influenced melo-death you will find anywhere. A must for fans of Ensiferum, Wintersun or Eluvetie.

Yeesh! Not the Best Suidakra,

This review is from: Command to Charge (Audio CD)
This is one of my favorite bands but man did they have a misstep here. It seems they were trying to go for a more modern melodic death route and they completely lost that archaic feel they had on earlier and later releases. The vocals are forced and dry as well. This bands discography is all damn good but Command to Charge can be skipped.
