Great Collection of C&C Titles,
A Kid's Review
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: The Command and Conquer Collection (CD-ROM)
This is a great and well-rounded collection of games from the Command & Conquer universe.
Tiberian Sun & Firestorm Expansion - Though the graphics are a little dated, the gameplay of Tiberian Sun more than make up for it. Futuristic technology abounds. 4 out of 5. Red Alert 2 and Yuri's Revenge Expansion - Possibly the most popular C&C game, Red Alert 2 allows you to fight in the modern world (with some futuristic technologies such as hovercraft. The war is between the U.S. and its allies and the Soviet Union, who are invading the States and have powerful mind-control technology at their disposal. 5 out of 5. Renegade - This is the only game in this collection that falls short of great. Sure, it's cool for a while to run around in the world of Tiberian Sun, but a great first-person shooter this is not. It's repetetive and alternately laughably easy and frustratingly hard. If you're looking for a couple days' worth of entertainment, this might suit you. If you're looking for a great sci-fi FPS, well, keep looking. Westwood should've stuck with strategy games. 3 out of 5. All in all this is a great package that is well worth your twenty bucks. If you like RTS games at all, stop reading this review and buy The Command & Conquer Collection.

These games are a blast and can be very addicting (until you try Generals Zero:Hour).
The big issue with these games is that EA does not actively support the games. It's impossible to get a response from them (from our experience). Also-if you install several similar games together on one machine you may have trouble running the games. We have. As far as the action goes, these games bring RTS to a new level from their predecessors...like Red Alert. They are XP compatible...don't know what that one reviewer was talking about. The problem is they are getting old and have been out for about 6 years now. But for $20, you cannot miss with this pack. We bought two of them for different machines. If you like these games, you will love Generals/Zero Hour. Try that too.

Tricky Setup for Win XP, Great Entertainment,

It's hard to beat getting 5 game disks for under $20. It makes a person think there must be a catch, and in this case, there is:
You need to do some extra steps to get it to run in Windows XP. I assume its fine on Win 95 or Win 98, but I'm no longer using those systems. Comma To make it run on Windows XP, you have to tell Win XP to run it in Windows 98 Compatibility mode. This includes the installation programs on the disks; This is what we did: Click Start - Run - Browse to bring up the menu of the installation disk. For each program icon on the disk; Right Click the icon, select Properties - Compatibility; click the compatibility box, and choose Windows 98. Apply and close. Then go on to the next program and do the same thing, until you have done every executable program on the disk. After that, it installs and runs just great! It only took an hour or so to load each game in the set, but we've played them for many hours more. Because the game allows you to set the number of enemies and their difficulty, the game can grow in complexity each time you play-- Or you can leave it on the easy settings, if you like smashing the enemy every time. The soldiers scream briefly when they die. Other than that, it is probably the least bloody computer war game I've seen.

Command and Conquer: Red Alert 2 and the expansion pack, Yuri's Revenge is more than enough to justify a $20 price tag - that in itself is a bargain, with more than enough to keep any sane person entertained for hours on end, especially with the floods of modifications availabale for the game. To get three additional games thrown in just says it all. Pure and Simple

This review is from: The Command and Conquer Collection (CD-ROM)
I bought this package for $10 at a game store and it's unbleivable. I've had it 3 months now and I still havent completed all the levels but it's not difficult per se. If you are serious about C&C you'd be hardpressed to find a better product. Works great on Windows XP!Blizzard Fans, this is Starcraft on steriods. On ce you play C&C you'll never want to go back to SC or WC, trust me, been there done that, then found C&C! (...)

The C&C series is some of the best strategy games available. This is has some of the better games of the franchise. In my opinion, Red Alert 2 is the best game of the pack, but the other ones are good, too. Great value, too. 5 games for $19.99? Can't go wrong there.

This collection is great! I mean, just look at the price. Plus these games were amazing back when they we're released, and they still are! You have four classic computer RTS games plus a great first person shooter set in the same great atmosphere. These games may not be new, but they are still great. If you liked any other C&C games, or you like real time strategy, this package is for you. BUY IT NOW!! AMAZING VALUE!!

It is 3/04, and I bought this product during a sale somewhere online for $15. Imagine... that's like $3 a game. Unreal. It was an excellent deal because I have loved the Command & Conquer series since the original. Previous to buying this, I had played the original C&C, Red Alert, & RA2. So I bought this to get the Tiberian Sun series & Renegade. The reason this product is a great buy is because of the value included. We're talking hundreds of addictive hours playing the series of games packaged within. Get ready to annoy your significant other with all the time you won't be spending with her! Unbelievable value. Can't be beat. Buy this package! You won't regret it!

Red Alert is the first game I ever played multiplayer, it is the first strategy game I ever played, It is still one of the most simple games I have played (other than the original nintendo games). In my opinion, it is a classic. The others are cash cow expansions and extensions from the original, yet they still keep the flare. Best series of games I 've found for single player mission sequence gaming.
