I bought this game for my son. He likes real time stragety games a lot. Its simple enough for a non-gaming father to play. I bought another cd so we could battle together.
Simple game play,
build a base, gather supplies and create units.
There are 3 factions GLA (terroists) China and USA
You can destroy their base or you can capture it to gain that factions technology.
There also are super weapons each faction gets. Capable of destroying an entire base. GLA gets the scud storm, China Nuclear Missile. And USA get a particle cannon. Alot of the game play is to destroy the enemy super weapon before they can use it on you. sort of like the cold war...
This game, while not having the best grafics. can be lots of fun for around 10 - 20 dollars!

The Command & Conquer Generals series helped start the biggest push towards more and better RTS (Real-Time Strategy) games. The graphics may not be up to par with today's standards, but the mechanics and play style is still excellent, many of the newer RTS's still using very similar setups.

This game is a wonderful game. It is a tad old, but you should still buy it. Let me give you a run down of the basics: there are 3 teams, USA, China, & GLA (Global Liberation Army). The USA has the most technology, but have the most costly units. China is in between for technology and has an average price for units. GLA has little technology and cheapest units. Each side has a devastating weapon too. USA has particle cannon, which is the best because you can move it around to destroy buildings. China has the nuclear missle, which is pretty decent on units and small buildings, but not a whole lot devastating on large ones. The GLA has the scud storm, which does about the same amount of damage as the nuke. You start out building your base. You can build tank factories, soldier barracks, supply depots, base defenses, power plants, and some others depending on who you are. Then what you do is give your enemy hell. The graphics are nothing to marvel over at normal level, but if you have a powerful machine, you can crank up the graphics for a sweeter picture. There is a campaign mode too. One for each side. They are nothing super special, but can give you a little diversity when playing single player all the time. If you want to know more, check out the review on [...].
