5.0 out of 5 stars It's still fun, and the music superB, August 9, 2005
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Command & Conquer Gold Edition (CD-ROM)
This game rocks, it's still one of the best strategy games of all times, and of course this is the first game I buy with my first computer (133mHZ, 32mbram, 3.1gB).....and i remember every detail of the game when i play it now....
It's just GREAT
The only bad side is that you need a special patch to play it on windows xp....
The Graphics are poor right now, but in 1997 they're awesome
The sound and MUSIC is amazing.....the song "prepare for battle" is still my favorite.....
Just dont lose your time and buy this game, find the XP patch and you're going to travel to 1997 when this game make some people the happiest person in the world
See ya

As part of Westwood Studio's 12th Anniversary Celebrations, they released the original Command and Conquer on their website as freeware. It can be downloaded at will.

5.0 out of 5 stars Easily the best game ever created, May 8, 2003
This review is from: Command & Conquer Gold Edition (CD-ROM)
Let me just say WOW. If you are the person that likes RTS games, and you don't own a copy of this game you don't know what RTS games are. This game game is phenominal. I bought it back in 97 and i started playing it single player. I loved it at first but it got boring. Then i decided to try the game out online. This game doesn't even get good till you have played it online. No game will ever be as fun as this game was to play online. THE BEST ONLINE MULTIPLAYER GAME EVER. Unfortunately the online gameplay has died because it is such an old game. The game that started it all: Command and conquer Gold 95 will never be eclipsed by any other RTS game to come.

This review is from: Command & Conquer Gold Edition (CD-ROM)
This game changed the meaning of real time strategy gaming! The live action videos fill yuo in on what your next mission is and where you are in the game. The game has a variety of units from ground to air from the Brotherhood of Nods flame tank to the high flying GDI orca aircraft, learnig new strategies on how to command your troops and conquer your enemy!

5.0 out of 5 stars All hail C&C I, November 24, 1999

Comand & Conquor is, without a doubt, one of the best games ever released. Okay, so the graphics aren't what you would call top of the line anymore, but that's not strange for a game that has been around for quite a while. And next to that, who needs great graphics in a already awesome game like this? The music is great (to bad that it turned so poor in Red alert and -yuch- Tiberan Sun) and so are the units. The only bad thing I have to say about it are the the acting preformances in the cutscenes, but the storyline and admosphere of the game are absorbing enough to ignore that.

It's one of greatest games, what's so great about it? well, lots of cutscenes, big choice of soldiers, cool looks, and even though it's a pretty old game, it's one of my faves

5.0 out of 5 stars Cool game. Cool units and battles!, October 26, 2003

The very first Command and Conquer is extremely fun to play. The missions are exciting and can be challenging at times. You can get glued on this for hours, for fun, or you may be stuck on a complex mission for some time. GDI and NOD are both very cool sides, and both have exotic units and structures. Some of the mission play can be strategic or tank rush like. On the GDI mission in Hungary, you get to build a base and destroy NOD presence in the area. This includes: Their vehicles, infantry, structures, everything. I used many Medium Tanks + Humm Vees, barged into their base, and took out their construction yard and Tiberium Refinery. They were weakened after that, and a built several more Humm Vees and killed the Turrets and Hand of Nod. I built an APC, and filled it with engineers to capture the rest of that base. This was a somewhat strategic mission unlike some of the very first ones. For those of you who just began C&C, the missions will be challenging, and it will take you a while. In my opinion, this is the best NOD and GDI conflict game. If you finsh this game, try Tiberian Sun, but keep this winner.

4.0 out of 5 stars A Real Classic RTS, September 4, 2000
This review is from: Command & Conquer Gold Edition (CD-ROM)
Although this game is very old, it is the best Westwood game ever made! It's fun to play online and fun to play newbies and advanced people alike. The gameplay is far better than Tiberian Sun and Starcraft and has pretty good music for an old comp game. You can play me on WW Online, my nick is SSJ4G0KU
