Commandos: BCD's gameplay follows the same style as its predecessor. Though classified as a real-time strategy game, Commandos: BCD foregoes the use of resource collectors, buildings, and unit creation--elements seen in games like Command and Conquer and StarCraft. Instead, players assume control of one to six distinctive commandos, such as the marksman Duke and the explosives expert Inferno, and use them collectively to solve puzzle-like combat and stealth situations.
Completing the game's eight World War II-based missions requires specialized use of each of the six commandos as well as making the most out of limited ammunition against typically overwhelming odds. Though the units, both friendly and enemy, are rather small, they're easily distinguishable against the lush, detailed environments. The interface, mostly unchanged from the first game, remains intuitive. When you've completed the relatively brief single-player campaign, you can team up with others through both local area network and Internet play via Eidos's Web site.
In a choice between Commandos: Beyond the Call of Duty and its predecessor Commandos: Behind Enemy Lines, go with the latter, since it offers three times as many missions and more interesting goals. --Doug Radcliffe

See the above.Apart from more difficulty levels to choose from, I can't think of a single thing that is wrong with Commandos. If you are intrigued by the whole behind the lines commando soldier thing - this is it! I love the ingenious differences that the cast has. The 2D graphics are a great sight in a world where 3D rules. The concept and AI of when, where and how enemies become alerted to your presence is very clever and realistic. And the list of great inventions just goes on. It deserves every bit of the five stars I have given it.

I received this game from a friend for my 14th birthday a few days ago and have played it. I will tell you this much, it's very challenging. It may look easy, but it isn't.Other than that i found the graphics and the sounds to be fairly realistic, but I have alot of fun playing this game.

This game is fun and very hard to beat unlike other games this game is actually a challenge for me to beat. For that I rate it a five star game. I hope the new commandos game is much harder, but not impossable to beat.
