Revelation is one of the most difficult, widely argued book of the Bible.
However Bullinger, an untiring scholar of God’s word, treats Revelation not as a work to be interpreted by man, but as God’s own interpretation of the future to us. Bullinger’s vast knowledge of the Scriptures, his unique grasp of history, and his unusual interpretative ability will challenge you to rethink your views of interpretation.
Refreshing in its literal acceptance of God’s Word, this commentary is not merely a warmed over version of other men’s views. Bullinger looks at every verse and devotes major discussions to key debated issues in the book of Revelation.
E. W. Bullinger (1837–1913) was a direct descendant of Johann H. Bullinger, the Swiss reformer. Bullinger was a lifelong scholar and writer studying at King’s College, London. In 1862 he was ordained in the Church of England. He is also the author of the notes and appendixes of The Companion Bible and the author of numerous works including Commentary on Revelation, Great Cloud of Witnesses, How to Enjoy the Bible, and Number in Scripture.

Another exhaustive work by E.W. Bullinger,
By Corey "Truth Seeker" (Columbus, IN USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Commentary on Revelation (Paperback)
Like many students of the Bible, I have been highly interested in the Book of Revelations. And like many students of the Bible I have sought as much information as I possibly could concerning the subject of prophecy and the last days. Bullinger's Commentary on Revelation is by far the most accurate I have come across. Bullinger had a very exceptional strategy when studying God's Word. He would isolate a verse and study it from every angle, making sure that the interpretation that he came up with was God's interpretation and not that of his own, for God's Word interprets itself. I won't say that this book is 100% accurate, but it is far better than some of the junk I have read or watched on TBN. This book, like so many other books by Bullinger, breaks down the common errors taught in traditional Christianity and gives the reader new insights to Biblical truths. I highly recommend this book to every Christian.

If You Are Used to Bullinger ...,

... then this volume will disappoint you. I actually think the work was completed after Bullinger's homegoing.
In my opinion, Bullinger's hyperdispensationalism kept him from making remarkable insights into the Revelation that are on a par with his most excellent insights elsewhere. If you have painstakingly reviewed the marvelous scholarship of Bullinger (and his team?) is piecing together the timelines of the captivity, your expectations of his work in the Revelation willl be sky-high as mine was. So, while it is still an epic work of substantial value, it's just not quite up to the pinnacle of scholarship that is EWB. That being said: of course buy it. Trade in a couple thousand copies of "purpose driven trash" for it.
