5.0 out of 5 stars Another exhaustive work by E.W. Bullinger
Like many students of the Bible, I have been highly interested in the Book of Revelations. And like many students of the Bible I have sought as much information as I possibly could concerning the subject of prophecy and the last days. Bullinger's Commentary on Revelation is by far the most accurate I have come across. Bullinger had a very exceptional strategy when...

3.0 out of 5 stars Not as great reading as his "Number in Scripture" book
I was intrigued on reading Bulinger's premise, namely that the "church" that is mentioned and dealt with in Revelation is not the current, present "church" as we consider ourselves, but rather it is supposed to be about the jews and the church that will be present after the rapture. It's always reassuring to me to read that I will not have to go through the great...

Like many students of the Bible, I have been highly interested in the Book of Revelations. And like many students of the Bible I have sought as much information as I possibly could concerning the subject of prophecy and the last days. Bullinger's Commentary on Revelation is by far the most accurate I have come across. Bullinger had a very exceptional strategy when studying God's Word. He would isolate a verse and study it from every angle, making sure that the interpretation that he came up with was God's interpretation and not that of his own, for God's Word interprets itself. I won't say that this book is 100% accurate, but it is far better than some of the junk I have read or watched on TBN. This book, like so many other books by Bullinger, breaks down the common errors taught in traditional Christianity and gives the reader new insights to Biblical truths. I highly recommend this book to every Christian.

... then this volume will disappoint you. I actually think the work was completed after Bullinger's homegoing.

In my opinion, Bullinger's hyperdispensationalism kept him from making remarkable insights into the Revelation that are on a par with his most excellent insights elsewhere.

If you have painstakingly reviewed the marvelous scholarship of Bullinger (and his team?) is piecing together the timelines of the captivity, your expectations of his work in the Revelation willl be sky-high as mine was.

So, while it is still an epic work of substantial value, it's just not quite up to the pinnacle of scholarship that is EWB.

That being said: of course buy it. Trade in a couple thousand copies of "purpose driven trash" for it.

This book is so interesting, I'm learning things from a different preceptive. This book makes one think and marvel at how wonderful our God is in the mysteries of His book.

I was intrigued on reading Bulinger's premise, namely that the "church" that is mentioned and dealt with in Revelation is not the current, present "church" as we consider ourselves, but rather it is supposed to be about the jews and the church that will be present after the rapture. It's always reassuring to me to read that I will not have to go through the great tribulation! But, as far as trying to read the book, I quickly got bogged down in minutia, even in the Intro, as Bulinger explains carefully how his research of the bible (which I agree the church has stubbornly misunderstood and mistaught throughout history) shows his premise to be correct. He is a great scholar, but this book is probably only for scholars to enjoy. I really enjoyed and got excited about his "Number in scripture" book, which I highly recommend, but this one I finally quit reading after the third chapter...

The book is brilliant. I have read numerous commentaries on the Revelation but none come near to the truth that this one reveals. All serious readers of the Bible should have it. But prepare to be surprised and amazed, your preconcieved ideas might get shattered.

5.0 out of 5 stars Grace vs Tribulation, December 31, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Bullingers Commentary on Revelation removes all doubt and fears concerning the Church of God the body of believers who are born again and have done God's will which is to believe in His Son Jesus Christ and believe that God raised Him from the dead ,that they will not enter into tribulation or see God's wrath. The mystery kept secret since the world began and was revealed to Paul, Christ IN you The Hope of Glory..
We live in the Grace Administration now and Christ will come for His body of believers first and then comes the Tribulation. So many people think tribulation is now, they have not seen any tribulation yet! These are the good times full of Grace and Truth.
Excellent book by Bullinger

5.0 out of 5 stars Unveiling,Revealing and Presentation of Christ Jesus as LORD, September 22, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Commentary on Revelation: (Paperback)
Revelation has nothing to do with the church (ekklesia)body of Christ, for the church is waiting for the Lord not a thief and it is perfect without spot or blemish and not addressed as servants but sons. Now the sons of God by nature will not be revealed until after the thousand year rein of Christ compare Rom 8:19 with Rev 22:3.This a fasinating book and one of many sorrows for thoughs who have never trusted Christ Jesus.Find out what you'll be missing in the future either by resurrection or rapture.

Read why you will be or not be here on earth when the end comes. This book helps clear the understanding on what the revelation is all about. Hope you are not here when it starts....
