Commitment Rocks,
By Ajay (DeKalb, IL) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Commitment (Audio CD)
Commitment is a great album. Lucky Boys Confusion has created excellence once again. This album is great because it is one of those rare CDs where one does not want to skip any songs. They are all good, so there is no need to skip. One can listen to their whole CD without being disappointed. The band itself is really good. They speak the truth. They say what is inside our heads and hearts.
LBC has a lot of songs that we as a people can relate with. Another reason why this CD is number one in my ranks is because every song has a different melody. It is not one of those albums where all of the songs sound the same and become very boring very fast. This one keeps variety and therefore brings us listeners in and left wanting more. If you like alternative rock, this album is the way to go.

A Kid's Review

Holy Cow! I love this cd! I heard their song "Hey Driver" on the radio and immediately fell in love with it. I couldn't wait for this CD to arrive in the mail and it was the only CD in my stereo for a few months straight. Everything about this CD makes me love LBC. My favorite songs are tracks 2-9 but they are all awesome!
This is totally what I expected after hearing the song clips on Amazon and reading the positive reviews. I am so glad I chose to buy this disc. Lucky Boys Confusion "Comittment" is an awesome addition to anyone's CD collection. You'll love it! FYI, the parental advisory sticker is only there because one song has the f-word in it four or five times. The rest of the CD is appropriate and clean.

Amazing band,

These guys are amazing. From "dumb pop song" off of their premier CD to "hey driver" off of Commitment, Lucky Boys Confusion has continued to hit their fans with a barrage of music, ranging from soft acoustic solos to mosh pit bashes. The variety of music compiled on this CD is not only unique, but truly amazing to listen to. If you have never listened to another Lucky Boys Confusion CD, this is an amazing place to start. Hey Driver, Sunday Morning, and Atari are wonderfully written and performed songs by this chicago band that will amaze and thrill everyone from their most dedicated of fans to the someone hearing one of their songs on a radio station. I HIGHLY reccomend this CD to anyone itnerested in the band.

Didn't think they could get better...but they did!,

I instantly became a fan of Lucky Boys when I first heard them a few years ago. As I heard more and more of their music, I became more and more impressed. The Boys continue to work their magic with this new album, "Commitment". This is the best CD that I've bought since...well, since their last CD "Throwing the Game". The album starts out with a bang on the first single, "Hey Driver", an extremely catchy, energetic anthem perfect for rocking out to, preferably in a moving vehicle. This energy continues on into the rest of the CD, and I can honestly say that every song is unique and great. You will never have to press the "skip" button! My faves include: "Mr. Wilmington"-a heartbraking song about suicide from a father's point of view, "Atari"-a song that shows that even though LBC has matured, they can still write a fun, playful song, and an awesome one at that, and "Closer to our Graves"-a really great song about growing up and changing, especially meaningful if you're from the 'burbs of Chicago(like me!). Well, I don't think I can say enough about this CD, so go buy it! You don't have to be a fan of punk, any fans of music will love Lucky Boys Confusion!

Why would I be suprised?,
By A Customer
This review is from: Commitment (Audio CD)
Why would it suprise me that LBC has gone the way of every band before them? Why would I be upset to hear that they've turned into just another pop-punk, radio band? The reason that I care so much is because they used to be simply amazing. With their Rap, Ska, Reggae, Punk styles all mixing into one CD, and often times one song, it looked like they had the makings for something truly great. This is coming from a fan that was there with "Growing out of It", there with "Soapbox Spectacle", and also there with "Throwing the Game". It seems like LBC has lost their edge, that they have taken one of their sounds, and made it their only sound. Taking the "Fred Astaire" pop-punk sound, they simply made an entire CD of it, rather than keeping their fantastic array of musical sound. Oh, well, I'm sure this is the CD that will make them popular. They never got the recognition that they deserved, but I wish that it didn't need to come at the expense of their music. So all you kiddies out there, you go out and buy yet another watered down pop-punk radio friendly album, while I remember the good ol' days, back with LBC when they were playin the real stuff. Oh, and while you're at it, pick up LBC's early stuff, Growin out of It, Soapbox, and I guess Throwing The Game, and listen to some real music. Peace.

LBC does it again.,
By Regan (Dallas, TX) - See all my reviews

If you read a review of Commitment written by a die-hard LBC fan, expect to read a gushing review filled with praise. I'm an honest and critical person, and I refuse to sugarcoat this review. To simply tell it like it is, Commitment is one of the best albums of 2003. From start to finish, the album is filled with great song after great song. There's no filler, no crap, no songs to skip. That's when you know you've found a good cd- you're never itching to press the skip button. Every single song on Commitment is worthy of praise. If you're fond of punk/ska/reggae/alternative, go to luckyboys.com and check out the songs they have available to download. You will not be disappointed. And if you've got $15 or so, go out and buy Commitment- it'll be money well spent. The second that CD goes into your stereo, I guarantee it won't be leaving any time soon.
