More fortunes are made and lost more quickly in the commodities markets than anywhere else. It is a game of consequence where profits won by one player come straight out of the hand of another.
The majority playing are set to lose. The stakes are high. But for those who know how to play well, rewards can be immense.
Commodity Futures and Options shows you how to play the game, and how to play to win.
The commodities markets have become stadiums for truly serious traders. For those with the courage and skill, these arenas are where the real fights are being fought and where fortunes can be made or lost in spectacular style. This is no amateur's game though. It takes cunning, nerve and the ability to predict the other players' moves to be a winner. It is the minority who takes the prize and they behave differently to those merely following the crowd. You must learn what makes them tick and how to act like them.
Commodity Futures and Options leads you through the markets and strategies to win, from the foundations to the trading frontiers. You will discover how the game is played, what the rules are, and how the money works. It will show you how to put a systematic approach into play, how to analyze the markets fundamentally and technically, and provide you with a global viewpoint and real-world examples. It outlines various methods designed to identify profitable market patterns and provides you with a valuable insight into trader psychology.
The author shares with us over 20 years' experience in this lucrative and cut-throat game and lightens the tone with a rich tapestry of amusing anecdotes that illustrate the colourful world of commodities markets.
Commodity Futures and Options is a primer and reference source for those that want to take the plunge into these waters, and a guide to those already trading in commodities that want to improve their performance.
"Without a doubt the best book I have read on the industry! Perfect for the novice speculator, yet comprehensive enough for the seasoned veteran to refer back to time and again. The trader who has been around awhile will enjoy reading the stories. Believe me, they are true!"
Joseph M. Orlick, The Chicago Board of Trade
"Finally an in-depth look at commodities, all aspects, the whole ball of wax, no punches pulled... Look out boys there's a new sheriff in town."
Joseph Santagata, President, All American Copper Inc.
"George's creative ideas not only will benefit the novice trader, but reminded me of things I know I should do but don't always remember. If you are thinking of speculating in commodities, don't make a move until you read this book!"
Kevin G. McCormac, Independent Floor Trader, New York Mercantile Exchange
This book "makes both delightfully interesting and enticingly motivational reading. When finished with Kleinman's book, one will be amply equipped to enter the frenetic world of commodities. As Linus has his blanket, I suggest keeping George's book nearby."
William G. Salatich, Board of Directors, Chicago Mercantile Exchange
"George has produced the first beginners book which covers all the aspects of the futures and options trading business for elementary traders, incorporating practicality amidst the usual theory in a very reader-friendly manner. If you want to go trading, then buy this book."
Patrick Young, Applied Derivatives Trading

Let me preface this with the fact that George and I had a falling out a few years ago and haven't spoken since. With that said, if you want a solid fundamental understanding of how and why the futures markets work - this is the book for you. George has an uncanny ability to break down the market into vey easy and understandable terms. He even throws in some stories that not only make this an educational read but a fun one. I really wish this book was around before I studdied for my Series 3. Kevin Cotter, former publisher of the Cents Financial Journal PS As to the dummies comment that was made by another reviewer - big words and fancy formulas do not make for substantial portfolios.

This book is very well written and the information is very useful for trading stocks and futures. I am surprised that it doesn't have more reviews. I recently read it and was surprised at how much useful information it has. I guess the best kept secrets are not well advertized!

Easy to read, packed with vital information. Using the author's methods I paper traded my past losing trades, and reversed many of the losses..(on paper only alas!)..works on shares too. The book is clear in its explanations, gives lots of examples and the author gives his email address, so you can clarify points that you find unclear. What's more George Kleinman replies to his emails promptly. An impressive work.
