This review is from: Commodity Strategies: High-Profit Techniques for Investors and Traders (Wiley Trading) (Hardcover)
This is a unique book in the library of commodity investing. I agree with other's comments that the book does not cover the specifics of futures contracts and the mechanics of how they trade. The author is candid about this from the outset and there are many great books that cover that already - Teweles and Jones among them.
This book is ideal for traders already experienced in point and figure technical anlaysis and especially for those who have read and applied Dorsey Wright's point and figure methodology. If this book is the first you are reading that deals exclusively in point and figure technical analysis, you may be disappointed. Tom Dorsey's other books are a prerequisite to this one. A very valuable book for experienced point and figure craftsmen looking to apply such analysis to futures markets, but admittedly it may leave others feeling short changed. This is definitely not the first or only book somebody should read before attempting futures trading, but it definitely belongs in the library of a point and figure analyst.

Point and Figure. Sheer Point and Figure,
This review is from: Commodity Strategies: High-Profit Techniques for Investors and Traders (Wiley Trading) (Hardcover)
I had questioned myself many times before I started writing this review because I had not finished reading it yet, and I wont, for sure. The existence of this review simply means that my intention to warn you potential buyers of its overwhelming elaboration of Point and Figure Charts (and no other TA tool at all) won over any other consideration of being a prudent trader/reviewer. Some may argue that a single tool can already be very helpful if one uses it right. I doubt so. In fact, the authors did not teach how to identify those false breaks which are so prevalent nowadays. No matter what, if you want to read the most detailed elaboration on Point and Figure, please go ahead. If not, please give this a pass.
