5.0 out of 5 stars An excellent, insightful and well-rounded resource for practicing and aspiring schoolteachers, both public and private, December 5, 2005
This review is from: Common Bonds: Anti-Bias Teaching in a Diverse Society (Paperback)
Now in an updated third edition, Common Bonds: Anti-Bias Teaching In A Diverse Society is an assembly of essays by diverse educators concerning dilemmas encountered while teaching tolerance and respect for diversity in the classroom. Sample essays cover the issues of religious, ability, economic, language, and sexual diversity, and more. Researched with care and supported with lists of references, the essays keep in mind the demands of law as well as practical and ethical necessities in treating sensitive topics. An excellent, insightful and well-rounded resource for practicing and aspiring schoolteachers, both public and private.

5.0 out of 5 stars Integrated classroom teachers need this book!, April 25, 2001
By
"linkkay" (Milledgeville, ga United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Common Bonds: Anti-Bias Teaching in a Diverse Society (Paperback)
"Common Bonds" gives wonderful insight on how to be an anti-biased teacher. Anytime I have a question about integrated classrooms and diversity, I get out my book and I always find the answer, whether my question has to do with celebrating holidays in the classroom, dealing with same-sex parents or any other kind of racism. The author is great with advice on how to deal with contraversal situations in the classroom.
