Now in its sixth edition, this anthology presents a broad view of popular culture and American culture writing of the fairly recent past. Television, the Internet, various popular music genres, and other aspects of consumer and popular culture are all represented. As an American Studies teacher, I know of no other collection that is as wide ranging with the kinds of suggestions for critical analysis and followup study and writing that Common Culture offers. Although the book is used for undergraduate classes, anyone interested in popular culture--particularly late-twentieth-century and early-twentieth-century American pop culture would probably enjoy the breadth of coverage and the diversity of sources assembled here.

The spine was torn, the edges were pretty badly beat up, and there's a little bit of writing in the book. It was no where near 'almost new quality'.

I ordered this book to save money for college and it worked!! My book arrived in excellent condition, just in time for me to head off to school. I'm definitely doing this again next semester. :)
