5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent advice from an excellent health practitioner
It is such a shame to see someone so blinded by their anger that they paid too much for this book that they rated the BOOK with only 1 star -- when it was not the book their grudge was about but the price. Dr. Schulze's book is indeed advertised at $16 because that was the original price, but it is definitely out of print and no one is selling it for that price anymore...

3.0 out of 5 stars www.herbdoc.com is the site
I haven't read it so I don't know how I'd rate it. I took a middle approach because the information of his that I have read seems really good. I just wanted to put his website in so you can get it cheaper. I like Amazon.com and have gotten some excellent deals from here. I cannot believe that people are selling this book for so much money when it is available for a lot...

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent advice from an excellent health practitioner, April 19, 2006

It is such a shame to see someone so blinded by their anger that they paid too much for this book that they rated the BOOK with only 1 star -- when it was not the book their grudge was about but the price. Dr. Schulze's book is indeed advertised at $16 because that was the original price, but it is definitely out of print and no one is selling it for that price anymore. The reason it is being sold for higher than that price is because it is a VALUED book and the quantity is scarce in comparison to demand.

I think the best way to give background for this book is to give some information about the author himself, from his weblink at Curezone:

In his hunger to learn about natural healing methods, Richard Schulze studied under two great healers. The first was Bernard Jensen. Tuition fees at Jensen's health ranch were $900. Richard sold his car for exactly that amount and hitch-hiked to the ranch. He was able to pay the fee but when the students all left to stay in a motel at the end of the day, he realized he needed a place to sleep! Without anyone being the wiser, Schulze slept in a hollow in the hedge bordering Jensen's property throughout the course. In the morning, he showered using a yard sprinkler. Later at the school of famed herbalist, John Christopher, Schulze became a teacher and practitioner. Incurables came to the school for help and Schulze started to realize the extent to which people could be helped with herbs and natural healing methods. With experience, he became convinced that herbal formulas needed to be strengthened to meet the increasing toxicity of the environment and deteriorating food sources. Many traditional herbal formulas, he felt, were not strong enough for today's world.

In the 1970's, when Schulze opened a clinic in California, he developed his own herbal preparations. Over a 20-year period, he often helped people who were dying. He quickly learned what it took to get people well. For those who came to him, he prepared potent herbal products using carefully chosen organically-grown herbs in high dosages. He developed a program for incurables and his clinic became known as a place where those who had no other hope would find help. Schulze says he was not trying to cheat death-he recognizes physical death as a natural and beautiful process. He says, "When we finally die after living a healthy natural lifestyle, what I have seen is we go with no pain, a big smile on our face..." Having said that he quickly points out that he respects the individual's freedom to choose: "Forcing someone to submit to natural healing is no different than someone forcing you to take drugs and have surgery."

He admits, as well, that many people who entered his clinic were not willing to do what is necessary to reverse their diseases naturally. He would not work with anyone who wasn't fully committed to taking responsibility for their own health and to regaining health.

He knew he had to be inconspicuous to avoid legal prosecution for treating people with diseases. There were no signs on his clinic and the windows were covered. Government regulators, however, targeted him as a result of a lecture he delivered at a convention. Government agents with battering rams, bulletproof vests, and machine guns broke in one night and carted him off to jail. He escaped a jail sentence on a technicality but knew he had to be careful. He closed his clinic. With a young family, his mission now is to inform those who are hungry for information about natural healing. He lectures and offers booklets, audiotapes and videotapes through The School of Natural Healing. The video programs, in particular, give step-by-step instructions on how to reverse debilitating diseases. A strong desire to regain health is necessary as the process of getting well becomes a full-time job in the early stages. Schulze explains methods to cleanse or clear toxins from the body-no small task in the beginning if an advanced disease is present. He also explains methods to increase circulation to speed healing, methods to rebuild tissue and methods to stay well. Schulze makes his potent herbal formulae and tinctures - formulated for today's more toxic world-available through the American Botanical Pharmacy.

"Many people," Schulze says, "want information specific to their disease."

However, in his practice he found, "...the basics of getting and staying well are so powerful, that 98% of the time specifics are not necessary."

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent primer for anyone interested in improving their health!, January 30, 2006
This review is from: Common Sense Health and Healing (Paperback)
Great book. Easy to read. One will find they read it again and again.

It is currently out of print and prices are through the roof. It is probably not worth 50 dollars. But keep looking - it is enjoyable.

Richard Schulze is top-notch... a disciple of the late master herbalist John Christopher. This book (Common Sense Health and Healing) may be viewed- or downloaded in its entirety- from his blog pages. Many of his other life-saving treatment protocols are there as well.

5.0 out of 5 stars his blog has similar book to read online free, October 20, 2007
This review is from: Common Sense Health and Healing (Paperback)
Both Schulze and Christopher (his teacher) have a combined 7 decades of actual clinical experience working with sick and dying people and hundreds of thousands of people have been cured from every terminal and other illness with the info this man knows which he freely shares in his video series the save your life videos and his book there are no incurables diseases and at curezone. I find his twenty steps interesting and he expands on them some in this book and the free one 20 powerful steps to a healthier life.

Dr Schulze cured people of every kind of incurable illnesses with his save your life program documented and in demonstrated in great detail by the save your life videos by Sam Biser. Apparently his patient handbook on curezone links here to this book and that is creating a lot of traffic for these high prices from desperate people needing the book to try to recover. It says in his patient handbook the book is $16 and links here but obviously it is not anymore but not sure that it is not out of print or available elsewhere cheaper,

Though I love amazon and its often cheap prices the most and recommend it often in my recommendations to the many sick I help whether privately or publicly in places with high traffic like curezone for specific books, this book offered, though great, is certainly not the best price for the info in this book by this man. One can often get the whole videos series cheaper than this book on amazon on which has far, far more info and is a better deal certainly as it is 12 videos detailing exactly how he cured the terminally ill that had been sent home to die and also visually demonstrated everything. It should come with the 700 page manual if complete. One can even get that video series free if they know where to look.

A very similar book on the 20 steps as this one (a more recent version I believe) is available on Dr Schulze's blog herbdocblog --the end of this link is .com /books-dvds/ Go there to read free books by Schulze along with the book "there are no incurable diseases" (a shorter version of the save your life videos) and several others of his books can be read for free.

There are also videos along with his most recent book and other free stuff he can send you and his advice in the blog on various/diseases things. He used to offer this book free with a purchase and that is how some got the book. Personally I do not think this book is worth hundreds of dollars so I recommend buying it used or seeing the free one about his 20 steps that you can read online at his blog site (you can also reach this from herbdoc -- his site.

As one who had helped thousands of people for free with the info I learned from schulze and other great healers, to charge hundreds of dollars to people who are sick and dying is wrong.

I posted this info in that light. There is no harm in making a profit but to mark it up hundreds of dollars is unfair imo but the book like all his info is topnotch. In my 30 years of study he is the best natural healer I know followed by his teacher Dr Christopher who originated the incurables program his site is herballegacy and Linda Page author of healthy healing. All are a wealth of info for healing oneself naturally.

I hope this post is of help to people.

1.0 out of 5 stars Ripp-Off, January 4, 2006
This review is from: Common Sense Health and Healing (Paperback)
After receiving this book with the retail price of $16 still on the cover. I am wondering how one merchant on Amazon is selling the new book for $89 and I paid around $50 for a used one. Dr. Schulze has it on his websit for $16. This was a very misleading purchase!!!
