4.0 out of 5 stars Fairly Exhaustive hymnal, September 28, 2007
This review is from: Common Praise: The Definitive Hymn Book for the Christian Year (Hardcover)
This hymn book has a lot of hymns. I was surprised that several hymns that I considered "well known" were not in here, or had a different tune than I was used to.

Personally, I still find it difficult to read the music on one page and the lyrics on the page next to it at the same time, but that's mostly because I'm trying to sing parts. I suppose it works fine for just singing the melody, but I still prefer to have the lyrics under the notes as my memory is not good enough to read a line of lyrics, follow the music, remember where I was on the lyrics to get my next line, remember where I was on the music once I've gotten my next line, all the while trying sing the right intervals and rhythms.
