5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent devotional & spiritual growth tool, May 27, 2000

This review is from: The 1979 Book of Common Prayer and the New Revised Standard Version Bible with the Apocrypha (Hardcover)
Even if you are not from the Anglican/Episcopal tradition you owe it to yourself to immerse yourself in the lofty solid practice of daily [or common] prayer. Having the Bible [NRSV, a modern yet superb translation] and the 1979 BCP in one is a joy and delight. Reading the daily office is spiritually profitable and with this NRSV/BCP much easier. The text size is comfortable and this edition should be quite handy for teachers as well as lay people who desire a deeper walk with the Lord. Leadership magazine [a journal for ministers] in 1999 listed the favorite devotional classics of all evangelical clergy and the Book of Common Prayer was #3. Spending time with God's Word and prayer/devotional material dating back to the apostles is pretty rich! I highly recommend it. The hardback edition is solidly built and well crafted for many, many years of use.
