As mentioned by several reviewers, this is a relatively smaller pairing of the '79 BCP and the NRSV (w/Apocrypha). For me, this replaced a duo of the same books that were approximately the same size. Having both of these volumes in one book makes for easier transitions during public worship. Also, this set is great for those who would like to develop the rhythms of praying the daily offices. You have the liturgy, lectionary, and biblical text all in one place. I am a fan of the compact size, though it would be nice if there was a larger version available as well.

The binding is a leather-like product (I don't think it is real leather). It is stitched around the edges giving both an aesthetically pleasing look and a study product. The brown on brown is quite attractive and the material is soft to the touch.

The only down side to this is the fact that there are only 3 ribbons. I find that I would use at least 2-3 additional ones regularly. This can be remedied easily by purchasing ones that can be added in.

Overall, I think you will be happy with this set as long as you are okay with the compact nature of it.

I'm quite happy with this book overall. My only issues are:

1) The print in the Bible section is EXTREMELY tiny. The Prayerbook has fairly small print, but I don't find it difficult to read. The Bible print is much, much smaller.
2) This a rather chunky volume, very. thick (2 in.) in relation to its height and width (6 1/2 in. tall X 4 5/8 in. wide). I found the dimensions a bit odd at first, but I soon got used to that, and the format has grown on me.

Both of the factors above are due to the fact that the volume contains both the Book of Common Prayer and the complete NRSV Bible. I regard them as tradeoffs for the convenience of having both in one package. If you would prefer something slimmer, I would recommend buying one of the many available eds. of the Book of Common Prayer that does NOT include a Bible and getting a separate copy of the Bible.

Despite the above, the book is quite attractive with its leatherlike tan cover and gold edged pages. 3 gold colored ribbons are bound into it for use as place markers; these are useful, but I could use a lot more of them.

Handy and nicely bound - this is a total package BCP! The cover is nice and there are handy ribbons to mark pages included. You will enjoy carrying this everywhere you go.
