This could have been worse,

This book is not well written; it needs a lot of editing. When it says "common sense police supervision," it means it. If your friends think you are a moron and have no common sense, this book is a must read. However, if you have any sense of the reality that surrounds you, don't bother.

Its a shame that the NJ CSC uses the book "Common Sense Police Supervision" as a tool to test police officers. Book was poorly written and super repetitive. For a 4th edition the book should have been proof read much better. ex. "on the lob" instead of "on the job." Many others. Book is going in the vertical file.....

This book is horrible! I unfortunately had to "study" this book for a promotional process. The author should be put in prison. As the title says, this book is full of "common sense", for the entire 333 pages. Unlike other books that give you insights into the various topics, this book rambles on, and on, and on, and on (ok, got the point?) about things you already know. If you have a heartbeat, a brain in your head, and you weren't raised by monkeys in the jungle, this book will not teach you a single thing. This is horrible. The only good thing is that the promotional process is over and I can now burn this book. That may not give me enough pleasure, so I may shoot it and try to make it explode first.

This is one of the books I needed to read for the upcoming civil service sgt's test. It was easy to read and at no point was I confused or bored. It is definitely what the title states, "Common Sense". The price on amazon was the best around!
