10.Dance To The Riddum Live life for the moment. 11.Good To You Trying your hardest in a relationship sometimes ends up with you trying too hard, and getting trampled on by the one you love 12.Reggae Nation We need more reggae music from the radio station. 13.Take It Away This track describes the joy of falling in love. Fans of Jackson Browne will enjoy his guest performance. 14.Alone In A Dream This song was written together by the band and speaks of their mutual goals and aspirations in the music business.
Often compared to artists like Sublime, Common Sense draws its influences from a vast array of artists such as Bob Marley, whos uniquely crafted grooves and songwriting structure changed the world of music. The Beatles, whos influence is easily found in the groups clear and distinctive harmonies. As well as elements of Marvin Gaye and the overall Motown Sound, which lends itself to the foundation of the smooth Funk/R&B based composition found in many of their songs.
Common Senses new self titled album, features the overall theme for the need to stop and celebrate and reflect upon the various aspects of our lives. For example, Rise Up, a tribute to Bobby Sheehan of Blues Traveler, reminds us of the importance of realizing in the death of a friend, that life around us goes on. While we should not or do not want to forget, we should focus our attention on celebrating our life and the past lives of others.
This theme is continued in Sweet Life. The groups own reflection upon the time they have spent together over the past 10 years. A time in which they have built a strong resolve for never giving up on ones dreams and beliefs regardless of what others around you may say or think. Overall, it is a statement of appreciation and enjoyment of all the time they have spent together over the years.
Common Sense is one of the most intriguing and successful artists in the music industry for one very simple reason. They are a band whos music immediately attracts and captures your attention. Once free from distraction, their reflections of life and what it is and should be about, you will recognize as your own.

Finally a great studio album!,

Commmon Sense is a great live band that in my opinion hasn't been able to carry that sound over to their studio albums until now. This disc is full of great new songs and the production is fantastic. Sweet Life and Take It Away are reason enough to buy this disc!!

When are these guys going to nail it?,
By A Customer
This review is from: Common Sense (Audio CD)
I grew up with this band in Laguna Beach and have heard them through the years. In high school, it made for a great night out to go hear them at the local Sandpiper. I have followed their fortunes over the years and waited for them to bust out onto the scene, but to no avail. I am beginning to understand the ceiling they are bumping into. Each of them has the musical talent to hit stardom and Nick's voice has always been fantastic (best appreciated on their cover of Sexual Healing from early album), but as we've grown and matured, this music hasn't. It's too bad they fell into a "pop reggae" category and that that is a fitting label. Not that every reggae band has to sing conscious lyrics or sound deep and rootsy, but these guys are the muscial equivalent of whipped cream- tasty for a sampling, but too much of it leaves you feeling sick for lack of substance. My greatest wish is that these talented musicians would take an introspective turn, deepen their soulfulness, drop the pop flavor, and bang out some solid, driving reggae music that is engaging. Steel Pulse, for example, is a band that hit near perfection with True Democracy, and went all downhill from there. See them today and they are a shell of their former selves. I wish upon Common Sense that they do just the opposite- take their current light sound and deepen it to near perfection in the future. Maybe they just want to hang out having a good time playing these light tunes and that's for them to choose. I feel they have the potential to take it further if they can just find the right groove.

Soulful Sounds,
By A Customer
This review is from: Common Sense (Audio CD)
This CD is filled with really fun dancing music. All the lyrics you can totally relate to. Growing up in Laguna, this is by far my favorite Local Band.I recommend that if you can see them live, check them out at the HOB's on Sunset it's well worth it. And buy all their CD's. They all have great songs on them.
