We use this book at the Florida State University to teach a Freshman/Sophmore level Public Speaking class. It's a great book because it's simple and straight-forward. It approaches the student with real-world examples and presents solutions for the individual to overcome fears/roadblocks to public speaking.

I recommend this book as a textbook for any student of public speaking. It's also written so it can be read cover to cover so it can be used out of the classroom!

Good communication is very important, and this book is one of the best books I have in my library on this subject. I also got the companion book, Bridges Not Walls 6th edition and together there is a wealth of valuable information and usable tools for good communication.

Dr. Weaver is a solid communicator whether it's in person or through the written page. I never had the privilege of meeting the coauthor, Dr. Hybels. This book covers the basics of communication effectiveness in a precise manner. Various contexts are included.

You can tell the authors represent a holistic approach due to the myriad sources brought together to explain the process. Even the entertainment portion is included, which helps maintain student interest.

Communicating Effectively is the required text for my Speech Communication class - the text is thorough and gives great insight - easy to read text, summaries, vocab, and objectives...

I got my book in plenty of time to use it for class. It wasn't the right edition for the class but the error was mine to bear with and we don't use the book too often in the class to even be upset about it (plus the content is pretty much the same). All in all I am thinking on keeping it because it looks like a good book to keep in handy Thanks

The book was in perfect condition when I received it. Also, it came within a reasonable amount of time.

I was very pleased with the price and shipping. The book I received was in fair condition, not good as stated. The cover and all pages were intact, but there was a lot of highlighting and note taking in the first few chapters. It serves my purpose, so I am not too upset, but I would expect something listed as good condition would have little to no markings.

I bought this for a college course I will be taking and I am very pleased at how quickly it arrived at my door. It also arrived in good condition.
