Once you've had all the basic grammar classes and you want to begin finding resources for building your vocabulary this is a good choice. I suggest looking at the "look inside this book" table of contents. It offers a variety of themes one might encounter while living or spending time in a Spanish speaking country and being able to communicate in these situations.

First of all, if you are a novice in the Spanish language, I would just say that there are no grammar explanations or vocabulary guides given here so it might be a little difficult for you if you're starting from scratch.
On the other hand, it has plenty of sample dialogues and practical conversations, which is really very useful for survival situations, especially for those who are spending a lot of time in Spanish-speaking regions or countries.
So for those who have a little bit of knowledge about the Spanish language, you will find it easy to follow. The material is presented with clarity and simplicity but it is jam packed with all the guide materials that you need to be able to mingle smoothly with people from Spanish-speaking countries.
You can really improve your conversational skills because it focuses on dialogue and conversations rather then strictly vocabulary. It starts with some lessons about expressions that we use frequently like greetings or when we order food from a restaurant.
Then it moves on to demonstrate what you should say in different situations. It guides you to the right way of speaking through real-life practical situations given in the book. There are different themes introduced so you can put your Spanish language into the right context.
Although I think the author can still give more depth to the practice exercises given, this book is perfect for those who really want to speed up their practical learning of the Spanish language.
