William Ogden Haynes is also an author of poetry and short fiction and has published over one hundred and fifty poems and short stories in literary journals. In 2012, he compiled his early poetry in a book entitled "Points of Interest". The following year His book "Uncommon Pursuits" was released and includes both poetry and short stories. In 2014 he published his third volume of poetry entitled "Carvings". A book of short stories, "Youthful Indiscretions" was published in 2015. Since most of the poems and short stories in these books had appeared earlier in literary journals, the books serve to consolidate the work of William Ogden Haynes in three easily accessible volumes. His poetry has been anthologized multiple times and he is frequently invited to read his work at various arts and poetry gatherings in Alabama. He is currently working on new projects in both poetry and fiction.
