Many specialists in family relations say the number-one problem in marriages today is not sex, money or children, but lack of communication between husband and wife. H. Norman Wright tackles this dilemma in the Christian book on couples communication. Presenting insightful ways to reduce marital conflict, manage anger, build one another's self-esteem and just plain listen to one another, Wright provides couples with the resources to understand each other at new and deeper levels. Ideal for married and pre-married couples, counselors, lay counselors, mentors and pastors, this classic has been fully revised and updated for marriages in the new millennium.

5.0 out of 5 stars This is a great "Go at your own pace"guide, March 16, 2001

This review is from: Communication: Key to Your Marriage: A Practical Guide to Creating a Happy, Fulfilling Relationship (Paperback)
This book really is wonderful. It is a great at-home counseling tool for couples to do themselves. There are questions and exercises throughout, and at the end of each chapter, to help guide you through constructive conversation between you and your spouse. The book talks about personality traits and gives examples and couples' stories that you can really relate to. It was not uncommon for me to say at times when reading the book, "This is me they're talking about" or "They're describing my husband and our relationship." I've began to buy it as gifts for friends. This book really did bless me and it enabled me to see me.

Every time I have to buy a wedding gift, I include this book with it. I think it is an undiscovered treasure for those who haven't read it yet. I recommend it for young and older couples as well.

highly recommend this book for those looking for a practical read, experiencing trouble or just curious about the how to improve communication between yourself and a significant other/spouse. the book teaches a lot of communication skills as well as highlights gender differences to explain how each party may perceive the same message differently. so far the book has been very helpful.
