I am a huge fan of H. Norman Wright. As a Pastor's wife I have found his resources and books a blessing in the area of ministry to those in our church and in our community. He has written numerous books on relationships, marriage and counseling. All of which have been outstanding. This one is also a great read!

Communication is vital to any relationship - especially to the marriage relationship. However, in today's busy world of work, activities and parenting it seems many have lost the tools to communicate effectively. People are quick to send an email, facebook message or text rather than to spend time investing in an individual both listening and talking. This book explores the importance of just that. A strong and peaceful marriage filled with true happiness is one where both people take time to invest in the other. They realize the importance of talking and listening to eachother.

This book gives couples the tools to have effective communication with each other, to build each other up, to manage anger. The book is an easy read and is even available in a small group format. I would recommend that couples read the book together and discuss the chapters, but it is effective if either spouse reads and implements the tools given.

This book makes you think about how you are communicating currently and why that may not be working as you thought it should. It shows us how much assumption we put into things we think our partner knows when really they aren't mind readers and you have to talk to clarify avoiding those misunderstandings.

Had a copy, lost or loaned it. It is a must-have book for us to reread after 40 years of marriage when things have changed.

Purchased as a wedding shower gift, this book will help beginning couples build upon what attracted them to each other in the first place. It is a great "refresher course" for those marriages that just need a little "remodeling" after years of being "stale". Communication is the most important avenue for keeping a marriage "alive" and "thriving"...this book is a great help. H. Norman Wright has a way of presenting things anyone can grasp and apply.
