The book was an "ok" study guide. This is a good book if you are confident in reading and writing and simply need a refresher session. Personally, I feel that this book absolutely needs another editing session! I found multiple spelling mistakes through out the book which of course made me doubt my answers and the books answers while taking the practice tests. If you want a challenge and a real practice test do not waste your money on the XAMonline VCLA practice test booklets 1 and 2 (they are sold separately and not included with the book). If you go to the VCLA website they offer two REAL practice tests and I found them much more challenging than the XAMonline practice tests! In a panic I ordered the XAMonline practice test booklets a long with my study book and I feel like I wasted my money! One of the books which was suppose to mock a "real VCLA test session" had the answers already underlined in the practice test!!! It was extremely distracting and I learned NOTHING since the answers was already highlighted and was not able to use my brain to answer any of the questions. Obviously, another editing error since the second practice test booklet was fine. Do not waste your money on the practice booklets!!

The practice guide was a great tool for preparing for the VCLAVCLA Communications and Literacy Assessment Teacher Certification Test Prep Study Guide (XAMonline Teacher Certification Study Guides) test to be taken. I felt much more prepared and I passed it!! I struggle with test taking but this practice guide helped me truly feel prepared!

Good book to understand point by point what you need to know in order to pass the exam. However, I was expecting more. I wish it included an actual sample of the test, like the one provided on the vcla website. Even the questions in the book aren't as hard as they are on the actual exam and there are some misprints too. But this is a good reference book. And I passed the test after all!
