3.0 out of 5 stars a brief look at a southern penecostal church, October 26, 1999

This review is from: Community in a Black Pentecostal Church: An Anthropological Study (Paperback)
Williams deals with a southern, black, poor penecostal church in the urban Pittsburg, PA setting. He goes in depth to the symbolic social structure of the Church of Zion. All in all a very good independant ethnographic study of the subject; could have used a little more time dealing with the detail of tying toghether the symbolism used in the work. However a very good work that should be applauded for the time and effort spent on it.
