3.0 out of 5 stars Good information, Difficult to read, May 31, 2001
By
Shelley White (Atlanta,, GA United States) - See all my reviews
This book provided a solid introduction to community psychology, but it was very difficult to read. Most of this was because of small, dense text and numerous citations. They author used proper APA in-text citations, but they were so lengthy and numerous that you would read one sentence followed by a citation and two more sentences and another lengthy citation. The authors did provide solid examples of real life experience and research results that made the material seem salient and meaningful. This is the first edition and the book has a solid foundation, but I hope the next edition is a bit more user-friendly.

4.0 out of 5 stars Decent and solid introduction to Community Psychology, March 27, 2008
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Community Psychology: Linking Individuals and Communities (Hardcover)
I purchased this book as a textbook for my Community Multicultural School Psychology Doctoral level course. It includes all of the basic tenements and theories of general community and multicultural psychology. The book reads easily and lends the practicing psychologist ideas to many areas of research. Great reference!

1.0 out of 5 stars Community Psychology: Linking Individauls and Communities, September 12, 2009
This review is from: Community Psychology: Linking Individuals and Communities (Hardcover)
I ordered the book 1 month ago and still haven't received it. Even though it said I'd receive it by September 3, just in time for my class. When I contacted the seller, he said that no refunds are given until 30 days after purchase. This was not clear when I purchased the book. Please issue a refund immediately. Kathy Mosca
