Major airlines build their routes around a "hub and spoke system". Using this scheme, smaller commuter planes fly passengers from smaller towns to hub cities where they board larger planes for longer flights to distant cities. Working within this framework has given rise to the commuter airlines. Commuter Pilot is a new add-on for FS2004 and FS2002 for flying some of the most popular commuter aircraft.

The goal is to fly the most economical aircraft on any given route to maximize profits. This has led to the popularity of the commuter airlines.

The only reason I give Abacus only 4 for this product is that the software it is designed to complement, Microsoft FS2004, is so good that's it's hard to follow up. Now, I'm a fan of painfully REAL simulations. The idea of getting as close to the real thing as possible, rather than as "exciting" as possible, is the gauge of a good simulation. Fighter jet simulations are games in the true sense of the word, but this add-on is a proper simulation, with all the respect and attention to realistic detail expected in such a thing. Think flying commuter turboprops is boring? I beg to differ. Many more pilots aspire to these machines than to F-18s. Ever been on a commuter flight and wondered what the guys up front are up to? Ever lean over and stare down that aisle toward the cockpit? So, civil aviation fans rejoice! Add this program to your FS2004 and prepare to max out your CPU and video card.

Considering the product was delayed by Abacus, you'd have thought that the major bugs would have been ironed out. Gauges and graphics are missing and/or don't work. If they're there and work, they either don't work well or are of very poor quality. It is nearly impossible to taxi or do any ground manuvering becasue the visibility out the front of the planes is terrible. Other controls can only be found with lengthy searches of all the panel views. I could go on and on. To sum it up, if you're expecting software on par with Abacus' previously fine products you'll be sorely disappointed. STAY AWAY from this product!

This add on was terrible PLEASE DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT>>>I am in the process of writing this compnay and letting them know that they need to recall all of these items because you pay 30 dollars for this software and it really sucks nothing works right half the time the planes freeze up in mid air as your crusing it hesitates alot.I really hope they recall this game and microsoft should not let this compnay do business for the microsft flight simulators.......
