5.0 out of 5 stars The Best album in Spain and possibly the world in 1988., November 7, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Como La Cabeza Al Sombrero (Audio CD)
There is not a single thing I dislike in this album. Manolo Garcia, the lead vocalist, really comes to life in this album and shows how eclectic he is musically. In "En los Arboles", he sings in Spanish a song that is with arab/middle eastern intonations, the first time I have ever heard Spanish sung arabic style, truly beautiful! All the songs have a great beat and rhythm to them and are pop and rock sounding. The lyrics are deep and poetic, showing great intellectual depth and meaning. This album is an inspiration for me and I'm sure it will be for anyone else who is fortunate enough to listen to it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent album just as long as you don;t buy the "remixed/remastered" version, May 29, 2010
This review is from: Como La Cabeza Al Sombrero (Audio CD)
I bought the original pressing in Spain about 15 years ago on a trip to Madrid, and recently i bought the limited edition remastered box set from an online vendor. If you love this album, you'll keep the original CD as they have "improved " the mix of all the songs by removing instruments that made this album and its songs so endearing. The result of the remix is that it sounds like a karaoke version of Manolo Garcia singing to a playback track, minus some instruments and effects (the drums were re-recorded as well as the vocals, the cowbell removed in "Sara" and "La Piedra Redonda" , as well as the keyboard notes in "Llanto de pasion" as examples), plus they cranked up the volume of the music too loud - and I happen to be a "fan" of remastered albums, but this volume boost is excessive by any measure. In conclusion this is an excellent album, and along with "Nuevo Pequeno Catalogo..." woill provide years of enjoyment of this unfortunately and tragically unknown band in the United States outside of the fringes of the Latino community (i.e. fans of Rock en Espanol who are not dumb metalheads). It is a pity that this band did not make it bigger here, but a piece of crap like Shakira's world cup song will.
