I wanted it specifically to connect a SATA drive, and as the SATA interface doesn't have power I have to use the SATA connector *and* the USB connector. What bothers me is that the cables are not very flexible, they are somewhat stiff, difficult to put where you want them to stay. It works, but my main complaint with the enclosure is that it's plastic and it snaps in, no screws, it has opened already a few times, so I think it could be a little sturdier. Otherwise works fine.
