2.0 out of 5 stars Too abridged to be useful?, June 25, 2011

This review is from: Compact Guide to Colorado Birds (Compact Guide to...) (Paperback)
This book covers just over 100 bird species, which is about a third of the birds seen in Colorado. If you are a beginner, it might be worth a try, but even beginners see uncommon birds and thus might be frustrated trying to ID a bird or else ID it incorrectly. The intermediate birder will do just fine with Kauffman's or National Geographic for easy reference on the road. You would do well to have the complete Sibley at home for reference as well.
