This guide is excellent. Perfect, in my opinion.

Birds are separated by types with a quick guide in the front pointing to the pages with more complete information. This information includes general information, habitat description, pictures of both the male and female, other ID, range map, pictures of similar birds, nesting information, things to look for, interesting facts and even a picture of an egg.

Quite a lot for a book that fits easily into a jacket pocket. I can't recommend this book highly enough.

This is a sturdy paperbound book, with a reinforced cover, which will be helpful for use in the field. Contains good, detailed information including illustrations, habitat maps, and main info bullet points. Each bird portrayed is covered on a two page spread. Pages are color coded for different bird groups/families. The compact size of the book will make it easy to slip into a backpack or larger pocket in a jacket.

A good choice for someone seeking solid information about birds in Kentucky.
