This book is ideal for quickly identifying a bird while it is in front of you. It has photos, not drawings, which I like, for authenticity. The book also discusses migratory patterns which are helpful for the area of the U.S. in which I live. Good value for the money.

I am enjoying this book. I bought it of course to identify birds. However, it is so interesting with all of the facts and information about the birds that I find myself being engrossed in this book and not looking for the birds. Yes, I would recommend this book!

Not overwhelming with unnecessary information, yet enough trivia to capture and hold your attention, while you <gasp!> dare I say it...LEARN SOMETHING! Nice compact size, carries easily. Wish it had an extra picture per bird, to sho the wonderful variety,

I saw this book at a park and hoped to find one I could buy. No local stores had it, but Amazon did. When it arrived it became a daily reference guide for our family. We have a variety of birds in the area and have become avid bird watchers now. The book is incredibly helpful.
