Disappointed,

I have owned this DVD player for about 6 or 7 months and so far I have not been impressed with its performance.First off, I should say that I wanted a DVD player that could play various formats and I admit that I have not had any problems so far with it recognizing various formats. However its ability to play DVDs day in and day out has not been satisfactory. These problems do not seem due to wear and tear since they began very soon after I purchased the product. 1. If the DVD player has been turned off while a DVD is in it, sometimes, after you turn the player on, it will not successfully load the DVD inside. So you must eject and then reinsert it again. 2. The worse problem is that occassionally it will freeze during movies or green squares will appear on the screen and it will stick like a broken record player. This is not only with older scratched up DVDs, or burnt DVDs, but brand new DVDs right out of the packaging. All in all I probably would not have purchased this player in hindsight despite its multi-format playing abilities and it's relatively low price.

BE WARNED!!! If you are buying this player because you want it to play DVDs from other countries, DON'T! It will NOT play any DVDs that have a region code other than 1. It will play DVDs that have a region code of ALL or 0, hence the reason it is called a "Multi Region" player. If the DVD has a region code of 2, 3, 4, 5, or 6 it WILL NOT play in this player.Other than that, I am sure this is a perfectly fine DVD player, but since I specifically purchased it for that purpose, I am extremely disappointed!! The one star rating is not for the product itself but for VCT Electronics which falsely advertises it as an ALL REGION DVD Player.

We wanted an inexpensive dvd player to play our USA dvds and our England dvds. This one does the job! Its very light weight, so i was worried it was bad quality, but we've moved twice since purchasing and it still works great!
