4.0 out of 5 stars First Hebrew Primer
I had a year of Hebrew, years ago at seminary. I have found this book helpful as a refresher for a field which I allowed to go untended for too long. It is a nice, clearly written book. One reason I like the book is because it is very clear in explanations and the print is excellent.

The narrators have not made a serious effort at rigorous diction. I would not recommend this unless you have no other way to practice pronunciation, and then only if you require aural reinforcement for learning.

I had a year of Hebrew, years ago at seminary. I have found this book helpful as a refresher for a field which I allowed to go untended for too long. It is a nice, clearly written book. One reason I like the book is because it is very clear in explanations and the print is excellent.

On the negative side, the book takes a little too long on some verb forms and repeats itself too often in some cases.

I have found the excercises at the end of each chapter to be a bit too long.

I would recommend that the authors share the names of the vowel signs. I don't think that would detract from the easy accessibility of the book. If you know the names of the signs, you know the sounds.

Overall, an excellent introduction to biblical Hebrew.
