First Hebrew Primer,
This review is from: Companion to the First Hebrew Primer (Audio CD)
I had a year of Hebrew, years ago at seminary. I have found this book helpful as a refresher for a field which I allowed to go untended for too long. It is a nice, clearly written book. One reason I like the book is because it is very clear in explanations and the print is excellent.
On the negative side, the book takes a little too long on some verb forms and repeats itself too often in some cases. I have found the excercises at the end of each chapter to be a bit too long. I would recommend that the authors share the names of the vowel signs. I don't think that would detract from the easy accessibility of the book. If you know the names of the signs, you know the sounds. Overall, an excellent introduction to biblical Hebrew. Pastor Lawrence Isbell

The narrators have not made a serious effort at rigorous diction. I would not recommend this unless you have no other way to practice pronunciation, and then only if you require aural reinforcement for learning.
