5.0 out of 5 stars Worth 10 stars out of five, October 26, 2007
This review is from: The Companion to Homeopathy: The Practitioner's Guide (Hardcover)
This is by far the best book on homeopathy that I've ever read (and I've read quite a few). I was rivoted with interest from page one - not only is Colin Griffith a very knowledgeable and intuitive homeopath and practitioner, but he is also an engaging and magic wordsmith, enabling the reader to be wholly absorbed in the book from beginning to end as though it is the unravelling of a mystery thriller.

We follow mankind through the miasms plaguing (and assisting) us from the beginning of time - each one being thoroughly outed by this talented author. I was fascinated by the layer upon layer of symptoms often presenting with the same core problem, and how each case is unravelled to finally bring the body into harmony. We delve into the psychological aspects of disease and begin to understand how important it is to allow disease to express itself rather than drive it underground only to emerge as a deeper and more chronic problem at a later date.

This book will affect the reader on a physical, psychological and spiritual level. It reveals the true wonder of our bodies and souls - it is alchemy at it's finest. Highly recommended - even if you are not a homeopathic practitioner.

I enjoyed reading this book, and it is in many ways a textbook, so that says a lot for the author. It is a book I will go back and read again. There is a lot of information on nosodes, which aren't used too much in the US. The caution is, of course, only use a nosode if you can't find a matching remedy, and the symptoms do fit the nosode. Good information on maintaining causes and miasms. Because it is easy to read, you don't need an advanced level of homeopathic knowledge to get a clear understanding from this book.

Get this one.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Must, April 14, 2009
This review is from: The Companion to Homeopathy: The Practitioner's Guide (Hardcover)
This is the first review I've ever written, and the only reason I'm wtiting it is to help others from making my mistake. First off, even if you have a couple of shelves full of homeopathy books, this is the one that will help you make more sense of the others. One of the big things that holds homeopathy back is that learning it is like reconstructing a shattered kaleidoscope; this book addresses that. But the main reason I'm writing this is to tell people that you can buy this book new for $45.00 from Minimum Books. I paid over $80.00 last week buying it off Amazon Marketplace, and I'm a little miffed that Amazon doesn't put in a link to alternative scources when Amazon no longer stocks the book in question. If you don't know better (and I didn't), you'd think that this book is no longer in print, and merits the inflated prices. I'm a very loyal Amazon customer, but babies, this is a weak link (no pun intended) in the jungle.

5.0 out of 5 stars Incredible book to educate the layperson, August 28, 2010
I hardly have the words to describe what I've learnt from this book. It's so good that I'm actually studying it, like a textbook. I've benefited substantially from the following features:

* Numerous case studies: The case studies have been extremely beneficial. From them, I've learnt more about the individual remedies. But, more importantly, I've gained an insight into how the homeopath thinks and reasons when selecting an appropriate remedy and how s/he would go on to select further remedies as the layers of symptoms present themselves.

* Section on miasms: This book contains lengthy secions on each of the miasms ... invaluable.

* Section on maintaining causes of disease: Includes chapters indicating how defective nutrition, allergens, family politics, etc. can all contribute to maintaining disease, thus raising awareness of the need to address these issues in addition to using appropriate homeopathic remedies.

I can only recommend this book to any layperson who really wants to start understanding homeopathy better.

This book is an eye opener to many misconception about vaccines, birth control, cancer, and more. It's a must have for anyone who wants to get more into homeopathy.

Great delivery time! nice condition of book! Colin Griffith has a number of books on this Homeopathy, and as I crave to learn more on this subject, it led me to this book, which has been really edifying to me in the course of my self-guided search to understand this path of science and health.

Very thought provoking. I am new to homeopathy so it is over my head. However, as I learn more about homeopathy I find myself referring to this book more and more. I think it will continue to be a go to resource. As an aside, it is very interesting to read.
