About the Author
Eckhart Tolle was born in Germany, where he spent the first thirteen years of his life. After graduating from the University of London, he was a research scholar and supervisor at Cambridge University. When he was twenty-nine, a profound spiritual transformation virtually dissolved his old identity and radically changed the course of his life. The next few years were devoted to understanding, integrating and deepening that transformation, which marked the beginning of an intense inward journey.
Eckhart Tolle is not aligned with any particular religion or tradition. In his teaching, he conveys a simple yet profound message with the timeless and uncomplicated clarity of the ancient spiritual masters: there is a way out of suffering and into peace.
Eckhart is currently traveling extensively, taking his teaching and his presence throughout the world.

After reading someone's negative feedback about this audio tape set, I almost didn't purchase it. On second thought, I realized that my desire to connect with more of Eckhart's energy was strong enough to purchase the tapes anyway. I had already read Eckhart's book several times and was very impressed by his clarity and obvious sense of presence. He wasn't just talking about it, he expressed it without effort. After listening to the tapes myself, I felt inclined to voice my own opinion about them. There is a depth to these tapes which reaches beyond intellectual understanding. The tapes open the receptive listener to other dimensions of awareness. I recommend these tapes to anyone who has the ears to hear not only Eckhart's words, but that which resides between the words.

Hearing Eckhart Tolle speak this spring, I looked forward to being able to extend the inspiration of his vision when I purchased this book. Was I surprised to being again riveted to the transcendent experperience of his insight. The sublime clarity of it has returned me to it over and over to the book, each time finding new subtlety at another layer of attention. The joy of discovery not only of a kindred soul but of a shining beacon of the reality that is our destiny offered in such a loving way is breath taking.
