This case is a good first case for your little one. However, it's not very tough so it can be damaged very easily. And by ALL means, be sure to keep those removable trays inside the box. My husband stepped on one and punctured his foot! It holds 24 cars but the slots are different sizes for the different cars which is nice too. The sides are split already on ours and we've had it for only 7 months. It doesn't keep the cars from moving around once it is picked up and they completely are messed up and need reorganized if it is moved via the handle.

Since Matchbox is now a Mattel item, these are the same as the 24 car Hot Wheels cases found at Target every other year (it seems). These are far superior to what the Hot Wheels line has right now. They have a "throw back" design of a black wheel and they have the dreaded 100 car case on wheels. Both of those allow the cars to bang around on the hard sides and scratch them. These are the classic soft trays that stack. Even has a couple slots for longer cars. With the exception of eBay, this is the only place I've found this type of case. Excellent for your redlines or the latest from the pegs.

Yes, the case itself is made of the generric flimsy plastic that they used to make Halloween costumes out of back in the 80's. However, so far, I have not had any durability issues with it. The big selling point for me, though, was that it included two of the plastic trays to put the cars in. I first got a Hot Wheels car carrier made of solid plastic, but it did not hold the cars securely and while carrying the case, the cars would move around inside and scrape each other up. The removable divider trays in this case are perfect and do not allow the cars to move at all, even if you tip the case upside down. I highly recommend this portable case.

Have looked high and low for a MATCHBOX (not Hot Wheels!) case for my 5 year old son. Ended up buying two of these. Well made and reminded me of what I used to have as a kid... I only wish they made them in a 48 car size... Have had them about a month, and they are holding up to the use by a 5 year old fine!

If you are an adult collector, this is the best carrier for Matchbox and Hot Wheels 1:64 scale cars. I already own three of these to store the cars I do not display. The Hot Wheels 48 car carrier does allow the cars to move around and would seem to damage the cars' paint. They must be popular because my local stores are always sold out. As a toy itself, it's not fun, education, or extremely durable, but it's the best carrier out there.

We purchased this case for our son, for him to take on a family vacation. It's good to carry the matchbox cars. It's not too heavy and easy for a child to open. The plastic casing inside holds different size cars. It's good for the money.

It would be just fine if not for the fact that the case tears easily. It is made of thin vinyl and cardboard. It wouldn't be a problem if not for the fact that the handle falls off easily, and it doesn't close tightly. Unfortunately, I haven't seen more than this one and the 48 box for the Hotwheels, which is much larger which makes it less portable. This one annoys the heck out of my wife and I, as the handle falls off while carrying it and the cars spill all over the place at inopportune times.

My 2 1/2 year old son LOVES matchbox cars. He can play with them for hours. This carrying case is a great way to take his cars with us whenever we travel. Plus he likes to put the cars and in take them out of the case - an activity that can keep him busy for a while.

Item received was a Hot Wheels (wheel-shaped) case, not the Matchbox case pictured. Yes, the "wheel" case is shown if you go to the additional pictures, but the title and primary picture were Matchbox and that's what we thought we were buying. If the vendor had been clear about what they offered, we would have passed. Deceptive and disappointing.
